Yes. In Afghanistan, using the Internet has been banned to stop 'immoral' material coming into the country. Taliban Foreign Minister Maulvi Wakil Ahmad Muttawakil said that the Afghan government wasn't opposed to the internet ' it just objected to the sort of thing that could be found on it. The governement in Afghanistan wants to control the things it sees as 'wrong, obscene, immoral and against Islam'. It's not clear how the government plans to work out who's using the phone line as a phone and who is accessing the internet.
