My partner and I have had our offer accepted on a 2 bedroom house today, our first home together. Both of us lived with our parents before so have no clue as to what our monthly/yearly bills will cost. Our mortgage and insurances (buildings/contents/life/mortgage protection) will cost approx 900 per month. Can anyone out there who is living in a house with one other person give us some sort of an idea of how much we would be paying out for gas, electricity, water, food etc?

Any help/advice would be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

Thanks bednobs, is this what you pay at the mo or an average?

What do you use the oil for??
This is what we pay in a 2 bedroomed house at the moment. Depending on where you are in the country, council tax will be different and depending on what band you are in. We use oil for heating and hot water as our village dosen't have gas. In fact i think i was being a bit over optimistic on the oil front - we pay 40 quid a month
