Petrol Strimmer leaded petrol ?

I have a Stihl petrol strimmer that has to use a leaded petrol and two stroke oil mix inorder to work. Local garages have now stopped stocking leaded petrol, can i use unleaded or will it damage the engine. What are my alternatives ?

You could use an additive that will protect your engine.
Something like this I found after "Googling"

There are of course other additives on the market that will do the job

if it's a four stoke ( 4T) engine ( needs leaded petrol ) why do you need two stroke oil? could it be a two stroke (2T ) and not need leaded fuel?

ask someone to identify which it is. 2T needs 2T oil and unleaded. 4T needs ( possibly ) leaded fuel additive, but no 2T oil.

you can buy 'lead replacement additive' from fuel stations or local car accessory shops.
