Just looked up 1oth Nov 2006. I picked it randomly.
There were 7 questions posted in the News section that day, and 131 replies.
Yesterday, there were 3 questions and 11 relpies.

A very marked decline it would seem. Maybe if I stopped posting boring questions, things might improve?
..dunno about losing its sparkle but I think it has become very predictable in a lot of areas.

Groups of ABers always ask the same typew of question, answer questions in the same manner of with the same point of view, and support other ABers of similar ilk.

It is very rare that an ABer will change his opinion about an issue...

there aren't that many changes really are there? just a few new categories - which surely wouldn't put people off to much... as for the regulars leaving - groups of "regulars" are forever leaving due to supposed changes and influxes of new users they don't like, this only ever changes the site in the short term and in some instances opens up the site for new users and allows for interesting change
In my couple of years of frequenting the site, there have always been people leaving, threatening to leave, coming back and so on. This sort of activity seems to occur most when a) a new editor comes on board, b) changes to the format of the site or b) some almighty barney between X and Y.

I would hope the influx of new users balances out those who deem the site 'not good enough for them'.
