Recent stabbings

We already have a problem with the increase in gun crime amongst the black population, but now over the last weeks have we seen a rise in fatal stabbings inflicted upon young black kids, by other black kids.

These incidences cannot be blamed on white on blacks racial attacks, so I don't think we can expect the root causes to be freely discussed by the media.

So perhaps we can have a honest debate of the likley reasons here on AB.

The reasons are simple. In a population of 55 million, there are always going to be a few thousand murderous thugs wandering the streets at any one time.
That, and mentally ill people who haven't been taking their medication.

After reading the various posts to my question, I am glad to see for once that the ABers who have answered have gave it some thought and have mainly stuck to the question put before them. That is of course apart from Mani Hussain who was first off the line with his usual inconsequentlal and offensive rhetoric which we have come to expect from him.

Though I found Gromit's answer tended to branch off at a bit of a tangent. He was so happy to provide a link which he said shows that only 3 Blacks have died in the last fortnight to 10 whites over the same period. (where he got 10 from I do not know I only counted 7 all the others where not identified as being Black or White).

Excuse me Gromit but we are not into a numbers game between blacks and whites. The question was about a very topical issue, being that there had been some high profile stabbings amongst Black teenagers, when we have also become increasingly aware of the number of Black on Black shootings.

I found vehelpfulguy's answer to why we have seen an increase in crime, as being alot to blame on unrestricted immigration into this country. This is in no way racist, but proof that the utopian idea of a multi-cultural, multi-racial society just does not and cannot work.

But then it is now a fact of life that cannot be reversed, so what we must do now, and that is to create a country where everyone White, Black, no matter what colour, are all treated on an equal basis.

No more laws to protect certain groups etc, we must have laws to protect us all equally. No special societies or organisations specifically for Blacks, Asians etc when there are none for specifically Whites.

No special selections to meet a racial, religious, or gender balance. People should be selected on their ability alone. Not on the fact that they are White, Black, Male or Female etc.

To make all this work one must forget what colour one is, At present even though one may be fourth or fifth generation British, one will still at the drop of a hat play forth the race card, and constantly blame the present day White British for it's colonial past, slavery or any other excuse to criticise this tolerant nation.

Others will even try and change the very culture of this nation and turn it into a mirror image of the country they chose to leave to come to this country that embraced them.

Sorry Gromit I have now branched off at a tangent, but I think it would solve alot of problems or is this also an utopian idea?

Hang on though...aren't you contradicting your own argument?

If we can see a specific rise in a certain crime amongst a certain group, shouldn't we focus efforts on resolving that specific problem?

You've highlighted a particular problem, so should we ignore that problem and treat all young people absolutely the same, or should we admit that amongst the poor (of whatever racial background), there's a growing tendancy (although by no means certainty) that they may be involved in crime either as a victim or perpetrator?

Also, I still don't see how immigration has any bearing on black on black crime.

Large scale Immigration to Britain (from the colonies) started in the 1950s, and continued through to the 70s. The kids we're talking about are third and fourth generation Brits. How can you like the backgrounds of their grandparents to the issues their facing today?

Furthermore, how do you square the fact that we're seeing exactly the same issues in housing estates around Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool...areas with relative small 'immigrant' populations?

I absolutely think the issues at hand are way too complicated to be laid solely at the feet of immigration.

My point in introducing the link was to illustrate that twice as many white people died during this black killing spree as whites. Sorry if this doesn't fit with your narrow viewed question.

There has been an increase in gun crime amongst the black population. And maybe we are seeing an increase in knife crime as well. The thing is, the same increases have occurred in the white population as well.

The two Manchester victims whose race was not specified were white (the Moss side one is now reported as Black).

AOG, I really cannot see any logic in your answer. You started in the question by suggesting that the media were not delving deeply enough into black knife crime. But then when it is pointed out that there has been more knife crime involving whites you say that you only wish to discuss these "high profile" stabbings which suggests that you feel they are getting more media attention and are therfore more worth discussing???

I also really cannot see how you have managed to bring immigration into this??? If immigration was the root problem how do you explain the large numbers of stabbings in predominantly white British areas?

The last part of your post about everyone being treated the same is just a ridiculous discriminatory attack on anyone who is not white and British. Not to mention that it has nothing to do with what we are discussing.
