Why do some ABers constantly cry racist if a posting regarding immigration appears
42 Answers
Seeing that some of you have either chosen to take my postings completely out of context, or have chosen to fabricate untruths, if not complete lies so as to somehow strengthen their own agenda. With this in mind it has therefore been necessary for me to find someway to simplify where I am coming from, for the benefit of those amongst us who seem to carry a rather large chip on their shoulders, and to find it advantageous in some way to keep playing the race card.
Well here goes: - I take England to be my house and the UK to be my village.
MY HOUSE: - If I invite guests into my house I expect them to respect and conform to the house rules. I do not wish them to section part of my house off for themselves and then set their own rules. The same rules will apply to all my guests; I will not set different rules for guests or their offspring's (either for my advantage or for theirs) just because they happen to have a different colour skin to mine. And if they (no matter who they are) do not wish to pay me a visit for whatever reason so be it.
MY VILLAGE: - It is no business of mine what ground rules they set themselves in their own individual houses in the village i.e. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, providing of course they behave for the good of the village as a whole.
I hope this somehow convinces the likes of Gromit, finger print and sp1814, that I am in no way a racist, but somehow I don't think it ever will they are too set in their ways, and it is an easy get-out for them. As regards Mani Hussain he is just a lying hopeless case.

YOUR HOUSE - most people own their own houses - you say that people should respect your house. England is certainly not owned by you / me or anyone else. It is a place where anyone can come in for a holiday, to work for a period of time etc. You don't expect people to just walk through your door - but people can and do this to the country every minute of the day.
You say that you don't have different rules for different people BUT by calling it YOUR house, you already are.

More seriously anotheoldgit, I don't think I have ever called you a racist or even implied it. I have not chosen to take anything out of context or used untruths. When Mani tried to get you banned, I was one of the first to stand up in your favour.
We have debates here and we each state our views. In the end we are probably not going to convince each other, but hopefully it is all done in good humour.
If you were to come to my HOUSE I would expect you to follow my rules. But there would only be ONE set of rules, not one for us and one for them.

anotheoldgit - I take it you mentioned my name due to my post in the question about stabbings?
I didn't call you a racist I just pointed out that your answer had no logic. You were bringing immigration into a question that had no connection to immigration, you refused to acknowledge the proof that there were more white stabbings than black, you started by saying the media would not look into the black stabbings and later said the black stabbings were more high profile and more worth discussing and you then went into a bizarre discriminatory rant that had nothing to do with the question.
Your analagy simply does not work. England is not your house it's every English persons house. I find it disturbing that you feel it's YOUR house with YOUR rules. It's also disturbing that you suggest that people with a different skincolour are visitors.

I know a racist when I see one. I don't need someone to tell me they are or aren't. I just know.
I know friends who have got flustered in front of me and said, "Oh God...I didn't mean that in a racist way...." and I've frequently had to put them right...if they were a racist, we wouldn't be talking, and they would certainly not be mates of mind.
I find my name included in the list of people who consider you racist actually very, very unfair.
The reason why I think people assume that you might harbour racial prejudices (which, by the way, is a world away from being a racist) is the majority of your questions to the News section are with regards to race and it appears that you are unhappy with the way you perceivev a tiny minority in this country.
If I were to ignore the vasy majority of hard working, honest and law abiding white people, and just focussed on the thieves, paedos, murderers and wife beaters, what would that say?

Yeah...I've just remembered...I was one of AOG's supporters on that thread. I wrote:
anotheoldgit's are the mathematical opposite of mine.
I have disagreed with everything he's posted and he's disagreed with everything that I've posted.
I find him occasionally offensive, but always challenging.
If it came ot it, I would fight tooth and claw to keep him on this site.
It would be horrific if everyone here was a left-leaning liberal like me.
Where would the fun in that be?
It's differing political opinions that keep the news section interesting.
Lastly, we all know that anotheoldgit cannot be quite right in the head because I know for a fact that he owns no Kylie CDs.
He needs our sympathy rather than our condemnation.
Right...I'm going to saddle up my highh horse now and go for a canter around the paddock.
AOG - an apology sir. You've slighted me and I demand satisfaction!

Well I have called anotheoldgit racist in the past because I think he is. One of methods the right wing media use to attack minorities is to behave in a blatantly prejudice way and then scream about the race card or political correctness when anyone gets upset or objects.
I have no problem with discussing subjecs like immigration it's an important to discuss these subjects but these discussions have to be objective. Anotheoldgit has looked for every concievible angle to attack those who are not white and British, he has made questions talking about the discrace of a Sikh man wearing a turban in a church to his friends funeral, he has compared the suffering of Africans during slavery to the sacrafice he made spendig time in the airforce, he has stereotyped and demonised non-whites at every single opportunity, most of the questions he has asked about race have grouped up a number of issues that have nothing to do with each other together such as black knife crime and immigration or black gun crime and Eastern European criminals. Almost every question he asks about race are set with a premise than non-whites are inferior to whites.
So no I'm not playing the race card or getting upset at the mention of immigration, I'm just pointing out what I see as blatant racism.

An analogy denotes that similarity exists in some characteristics of things that are otherwise not alike.
Therefore no analogy can be taken literally. I was in no way suggesting that I own England, and your other statement that England does not belong to anyone is also just plain silly.
I don't have different rules for different people. But calling it YOUR house, you already are. (I am already what? I cannot understand your ENGLISH).
I had to call it MY house to make it appertaining to me how else could I address the point. So please do not take me so literally
I give up, I'm surrounded by idiots.

Fingerprint raises some interesting points...leaving aside the analogy thing, do you think that when your questions are summarised as Fingerprint, those who don't know you are liable to come to the conclusion that you harbour racist tendancies?
I'd forgotten that post you put up about the Sikh soldier - I think pretty everyone who responded said (to paraphrase) "Eh????"

Actually, I've just re-read the analogy. It really doesn't work for a number of reasons, but I see what you're trying to say.
To take it to it's logical conclusion, what you're saying is that if you invited (say) a vegetarian to your house, she/he would have to put up and shut up and eat the beef wellington you're serving for dinner.
If a Sikh came to your house, you would tell him to take off his turban.
If a Muslim came to your house, even if he was praying in his own room, you'd bang on the door and tell him to keep it down because it bothers you.

In answer to your question Oldgit, the reason some people are quick to make accusations of racism is because it's a lazy, yet extremely effective method of destroying someone's credibility by denigrating their character.
Once you've been branded with the 'R' word, you can never win the argument.
As a bonus it also scares off other people who might otherwise have stood up for the accused from doing so, because they don't want to be branded a racist either.
It's a bit like being called a witch, or a communist. Merely to be accused is to be found guilty.
That is why SOME people do it. I'm not saying any of the people on this thread have done that, and I haven't read enough of your postings to have formed an opinion about you myself.

Please do not take my last posting as targeted at all those that posted after Oneeyediv. This was just in answer to his posting, and before I had submitted my post all you had made your own contributions.
When I have time I hope to answer you all on a one to one basis, so if you are interested keep watching.
But in the meantime, let me address Fingerprint, who unlike others has lyingly called me a racist, and like I have already threatened Mani Hussain, if Fingerprint was not hiding anonymously behind AB I would happily take them to court for defamation of character, I know for a fact that I would win my case.
It is persons such as these that are prepared to hand out the racist tag at every opportunity, that do more harm than good to racial harmony.
Fingerprint please furbish me with the exact words I was supposed to have said regarding the suffering of Africans to my time spent in the RAF.
Regarding the Sikh turban worn at a funeral, being bareheaded at a funeral is a religious cultural issue showing a mark of respect for the dead. What is the difference to a person removing their shoes as a mark of respect when entering a mosque? If the Sikh soldier had removed his turban that would have been the ultimate of respect, showing that he was willing to give up his religion for a few moments for a friend.
Of course people with a different colour to white are not indigenous English, just as a white skinned person is in no way African, this is fact whether you like it or not. Just because one is born in a stable does not make one a horse.
And I noticed that you used almost exactly the same quote as Oneeyediv appertaining to my analogy (except he spelled it correctly) You are not the same person are you and you made that mistake just to throw me?

I apologise for grouping you with others, it was just that I got the impression that you thought I was somewhat racist, because it is thrown around so easily these days that everyone is looking over their shoulder, just in case they are labeled as such.
If you read my post I also said there would not be different rules, one for us and one for them. And I would certainly follow your rules if I came to your HOUSE.

anotheoldgit,
You daft old ******. Never crossed my mind.
We all tend to have favourite subjects that we we like to talk about, and think we know something about. Yours just happens to be multiculturalism, and why it 's not working, or preferable. There will be plenty who disagree with you, and they should always counter your arguments with examples or links. Just to brand you racist (or call for a ban) is not entering into the debatte, lazy and wrong.

anotheoldgit - I am not as you suggest hiding, if I knew you I would call you a racist to your face.
You can keep using the daily mail tactic of being racist and then brushing it off by accusing people of playing the race card at every attempt, but most people can easily see through that.
Your latest post once again just sums up your mentality and proves that you are incapable of stringing together any kind of logical argument that any makes sense.
But I'm not going to keep arguing back and forth with you or calling you a racist anymore because ultimately that is not going to change your views or do either of us any good. I think everybody knows what I think of you and it's up to them to make their own decisions.
I just hope that oneday you will see life from someone elses perspective and become more conscious of the way you see the world.

I agree entirely with ludwig. Once the R card has been played all resistance or debate is hopeless. Racism is defined by anti-Racists and has lost all sensible meaning. I can listen to the BBC in my right ear where young black kids in 2007 are pontificating about slavery on prime time TV, and that's ok, but........
Britain is on an inexorable path, far too late to avoid.
All I can do is at the ballot box, and it is mostly better otherwise to keep quiet.
