Hello,
I could do with some advise with my motor please i have two questions for you.
1) When the car is warm it has a tendancy to rev its self. When you first start it up if you wait a few seconds sometimes maybe as long as a few minutes the cars revs will suddenly pick up. If you try to accelerate the car will just splutter and try to die. With all this reving you get a very rich smell from the exhaust. After a few seconds of sitting on about 2000rpm it clears itself and is good to go.?
2)You can be sitting it traffic happy as larry and then for no reason the revs will drop and the car will try to stall, It usually manages to hold on and idle again properly but then a few seconds later it will try to stall again. It is really stressful sitting in traffic cuz you neve know if its gonna stall on you.
Please can you give me some advise as to what to do other than sell the crappy french car. Oh and by the way just cuz it is a gti dont think im a boy racer. im far to old for all that sad stuff. i just liked the look of the car that was all. Sorry for the essay as well

Sounds likea faulty sensor - probably air flow or throttle position.
