Should we also protest? Asks anotheoldgit
anotheoldgit asks:
The British are constantly being criticised by some on AB, but having witnessed the scenes of violent protests outside the British Embassy in Tehran, and calling for the British to be killed, are we not as always the most tolerent nation on earth?
Since we have 15 of our force's personnal held against their will in Iran, have we not also every reason to take up violent protest against the Iranian Embassy in London?
It just would not happen, the British people are far too civilised, I do not include our politicians, I hasten to add.

You know there was this big mob calling for 'death for Britain' (which grammatically doesn't make any sense, by the way), there were a group of young men in the middle of the mob who were just standing around looking into the middle distance...
...kinda like people who've just realised that their seats at a U2 gig are right behind one of the lighting rigs.

It seems the more we up the ante the worse the situation becomes for the hostages. The aggressive utterings of Bush and Blair only adds to the flames. The nuclear issue justs adds to the mess we have got personally involved in.
We should state that we have made a genuine mistake and in future we will not enter the waterway dividing Iraq and Iran but instead check the boats elsewhere.
