It's that time of year again when awards are handed out for all the stuff that has happened through the year.......So does anyone have any nominations for other answerbankers that have done something to help (or hinder...but keep it friendly!!!) through the year?

........and I'll open it up with the redoubtable Quizmonster for being unstumpable in the Phrases and Sayings category.....is there anything this guy doesn't know the meaning of?.....except defeat.....there's an x-mas cracker joke....Show me a man who laughs in the face of defeat......and I'll show you a chiropodist with a sense of humour!
I'll second that - Quizmonster continually astounds me with his breadth of knowldege and helpful list of websites - a definite plus fot the site, I salute you sir!
I'd like to thank my agent, my co-stars, and everyone who runs at my back trying to aspire to be me. Ohhh, I wasn't nominated - sorry! My nominations would be for Jacob (RIP) and Einstein (very much missed). Good guys "each of them"!
For "services to Answerbank" award i'd like to nominate Answerbok who smashed the longest number of responses to a question record.
The "services to the english language" award jointly to Quizmonster and Spellmaster.
The armadillo award goes to Bernardo.
The "scottish female" award to Tartanwizard.
The "services to Infantigo sufferers" award to Mikewith
The "posting a bizarre question on my behalf" award to Ned Flanders' work mate.
LOL @ Darth's "services to Infantigo sufferers" award to Mikewith Hehehe! My nominations are: -
andy hughes - sft42 - Quizmonster and darth vader all deserve number 1 slots :o)
the very knowledgable Quizmonster without a doubt. well done sir for helping us all out.
I think Ned Flanders deserves an award for putting up with the absolute ripping he got in the office for not spotting the question that had been posted on his behalf. Also, he does generally have an opinion on everything - so award glory should come next.

You are all most kind. I have to tell you, though, that I will accept an award only on condition that its title does contain the word 'Empire'! It's not that I have any axe to grind for empires...just a counterblast to the current crop of public whingers.

What is wrong with these people? Everybody knows Britain has no empire now and - though there were some disgraceful things associated with the Empire when it did exist - the world still owes it a huge debt of gratitude for much else. Why, otherwise, does most of it remain in the Commonwealth? The word 'Empire' remains associated with honours solely on the basis of history and tradition. What do they want...ceremonies called 'Trooping the Eurofighter' or 'Changing the Centurion Tank at Buckingham Palace'?

So - though it might make me sound like a leader in the Ku Klux Klan - I'll happily settle for Knight Grand Cross of the AnswerBank Empire!

Seriously, thank you all again for your kind thoughts. As I've said before, I'm just an old guy with too much time on his hands.

how about Darth Vader late entry for always forgetting who's who, where they're from, or what sex they are. So who is the scottish woman - is that treaclefight? no no no treacle is from darn sarf - brawburd then? kin ell i give in - bah humbug and happy honnicke everyone see you in the new year (off tomorrow so won't be back on AB till next year). Darth
I also nominate Einstein for his knowledge yet surprising lack of egotism, Darth Vader for his kindness and diplomacy, and Jansy for his/her insight into baffling "number phrases"! And myself for being the most American...
sft42, you should get a special award for being "Most brilliant under age 35" (hope I got your age right), and I modify my award for Darth Vader to be "Least likely to annoy other users" (a rare talent). Andy Hughes and Sddsddean should tie for first place in the category of "Quiet most of the time but applying razor-sharp acumen precisely when needed". There would be several winners in the "Wittiest" category, including some females (finally!). We need more than one category!!

Darth you are thinking of Brawburd I suspect....also if you are referring to the infamous record attempt thread from a while back...well I have to admit responsibility for that one....KEJ unfortunately Einstein had left the site a while ago now.....I am resplendent in the age of 30 for a fortnight longer so I will be happy to accept the nomination of "MB under 35".
