Not sure if it's the weather or what, but has anyone else noticed that AB's users are getting ruder and generally nastier with their replies?

Take this for example....

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Animals-and-Nat ure/Question401057.html

There's plenty of other examples throughout the board like that one too ^^^

Yes we all disagree with each other from time to time, but is there any need to be so ruddy rude and agressive about it?

Are we like this to other people face to face? Or do we think that because we're anonymous and the other person can't re-arrange our faces that we can basically say what we want?

Or am I just becoming an old fart who longs to see a bit of courtesy and respect for each other on this forum?

No, I completely agree BOO!

I saw the same thing happen the other day when I was showing my friend AB.. and she asked if everyone was like that and I had to just make an excuse! But I do think people are getting ruder. I have seen a few examples recently.

lol, thank God someone agrees with me! LOL

Cheers Rosie, it just irritates me to see a great forum like this spoilt by twonks who think they can be agressive with their disagreements.

I refuse to show Mr Boo AnswerBank, he'd think I was nuts to keep coming back to a site where those kinda replies are becoming all too frequent.
who are you calling a twonk you old fart? lol and don't take any notice of slippers she is just after your choccie cake and sticky bun! : ))

Heyyyyyyyyyyyy dotty where've you been?

And gerrroff ma cakes!
teag1rl has let me down there, she's usually so nice. If I dont like a question I do pout something silly but never swear. I only swear if someone has been very rude to me.
I think it is very difficult to gauge how rude someone is trying to be when all you can see is the written word. You will often see posts which state "I was being ironic" etc.

Many sites have emoticons so that you can put smiley faces etc to give an indication of how the post is meant to have taken.

Agreed Vic , humour, sarcasm and irony doesn't carry well via text. However even you must agree that the above example was unnecessarily rude?
As I've said, it's not a one off either, seen alot of nasty replies to perfectly innocent questions on here lately.

Personally, I think it's the sun- it's boiling brains ;-)
very good point re the emotions. humour and a slightly odd sense of humour does not travel via the site. too much emphasis is placed on. L O L . and : ) . it can ruin an answer.
I agree too B00, i noticed it the other week when someone had asked a perfectly decent question and then got such a nasty reply, i was shocked so i responded to be told "FFS, sorry for having an opinion, " and then got called nasty myself!!!! In my opinion, there is never any need to be downright rude and aggressive. if you don't like the question, think its silly or irrelevant then leave it alone!
Hi Boo

I totally agree and its quite sad really.

Maybe this is what the world is coming to?

I would like to point out that it was a one-off from me. Never normally rude, but that post made me see red and I wrote and pressed submit all too quickly. No excuse I know, and I have apologised to the poster.
awww bless teagirl, i do feel for you being singled out like this! lol If you have apologised then fairs fair. I had a run in with hopalong the other week and he did apologise for jumping on my case and i accepted it with the grace it was given. There is no need to carry stuff on . Good for you!
Question Author
Aww bless you teag1rl, now I feel a bag for using your post as an example! LOL

Sorry :-(

Quick B00, go find some more examples so you dont feel so bad for picking on poor old teagirl! :-) evil woman! LOL
