eye test

hi all.
i had my eyes tested today and the optician said i was a little bit far sighted, nothing to worry about. and on my prescription it looks like "sph, +050 ps" for both eyes. anyway my question is, are they strong, it sounds like the strength isnt very strong so why am i being prescribed glasses? i get them for free but it makes me wonder if its something they do like a placebo to make you think your eyes are better so therefor headaches that might be all in the mind might stop lol. so if anyone can explain what the "+050 ps" means id be very grateful. thanks in advance take care all.

it is only a slight problem but my first prescription was only 75 and 1.25 and I thought I could do without my glasses. They have just gotten worse and worse. Wear them.
