So, with all the threads around regarding the recent elections, I was wandering what the general opinion was of PR as a voting system.
My view is that although it's a vast improvement on the glaring inadequacies in the existing Single Member Plurality ['first-past-the-post'] voting system.
However, the idea of voting for a party and ending up with a mish-mash coalition just puts me off slightly. I'm much more a fan of majoritarian systems (such as the one used in France). Though I'm rather shaky on the issue and could do with some persuading.
