Maddy Macanne Rewards - Bandwagon?
I apologise in advance if this question offends anyone, it is certainly not the intention but I just can't help but think that many of the donations for a reward for her return are turning in to some sort of bandwagon purely for self promotion. Of course I feel deeply for the family and wish her a safe return but I can't help but feel it's turning in to a bit of media that celebraties just have to see themselves involved in.

No doubt the reward money might make those who know or suspect they know something ,come forward but if I had put up the money I'd have kept ma name out of it.

I think this is an awful thing to say. If you had millions of pounds and youwere under the impression that a percentage of that would get a little girl back to her family, you would do it wouldnt you? JK Rowling and David Beckham are both parents and you can see how much the latter dotes on his boys, I can see why he would be touched and worried by this story.
ALthough I think anyone who only comes forward with informationbecause millions of pounds are being offered deserve to be in prison for just as long as whoever has her captive.

The list of people doanating money has got a few big names on it. The Everton boss's got involved as the McCanne family support the toffee's and Rooney used to play for them too, hence his connection. I think JK Rowling has offered money as her husband is from the village down the road from the Spanish resort Maddy was snatched from, and of course she too is a mother with money avalible to help out.
I don't have a problem with celebrities offering money, if it keeps the story in the media for a bit longer I don't see it being a bad thing. I do however feel sorry for the parents of other childern who have been snatched who did not get this huge amount of support and media attention.

oh come on - celebs get this all the time don't they, if they give money to a charity they are just "attention seeking" and everyone put them down, now some rich people have decided to give to a reward fund for maddy and people are still having a go at them... i couldn't careless way they decided to give, be it jumping on some imagined "bandwagon" or cos they are deeply touched by the story - its simply enough that they are using their money for a very worthwhile cause.
and if the reward money is given out i doubt it will be to any characters from the criminal fraternity that might have been involved but keeping quiet - instead i believe it would go to one or more of the many bounty hunters and private investigators that are going to the area now to investigate (a situation that we should all welcome based on the supposedly poor police investigation taking place)

phylkat Beckham is still playing / contracted to Real Madrid - the biggest club in Spain. He doesn't leave there for another month.

The fact that the abductor has not been found especially after the offering of millions must surely point to the fact she was in the hands of a paedophile. There is therefore a very small chance that she will be found alive. Surely he must have a record somewhere and I'm surprised that DNA tests have proved inconclusive.
I really admire any anonymous person willing to donate money to this cause. At least it will allow the McCann's to carry on the search for their daughter, without having to worry too much about the financial burden. They have after all, still got two other little ones to care for whilst all this is going on.....
I also have no objections to celebrities appealing for information about Maddie's disappearance - every little helps - but pleeeeez, I wish they'd keep their traps shut about how much money they're willing to donate!
We all know they've got plenty to give, but the amounts shouldn't even be mentioned!
Either keep it 'private', or don't do it at all.

Totally agree with Neilzulu1 on this one, if that amount of cash helps to find this little girl then it's all been for the good. I personally don't care how much money or by who (whom?) is offered, if it helps one tiny iota then its worth it.
I also think that with "big stars" getting involved, it's helping keep this in the media focus, again in my opinion that's a good thing.

This particular case has affected many people at a global level and has most definitely attracted attention from many celebrities who have stumped up a fair amount of cash , in the hope that a glimmer of hope may be offered to secure the safe return of this little girl. I do feel enormously sorry for any parent who has lost a child but as I watch and wait with everyone else to hear any updates on little Madeleine , I am not offended by the enormous amount of cash being offered to secure her return , on the contrary , I find it refreshing that there are some celebs who are not sucked into the vacuous , self absorbed lifestyle of celebrity that they become completely detached from the real world.
The big worry (aside from the obvious , the disappearance of their child) for the McCann family is that once the story starts to become yesterdays news , Portugal and many others will forget but their pain lives on until their daughter is found. The enormous media interest in this story and the involvement of celebrities helps to keep Madeleine in people's minds but as no leads are generated and the story becomes stale , interest may wane as people begin to forget.
I have been checking Sky news online for any updates and was a bit perturbed by this video clip with a former Scotland Yard detective who claims to have been told unofficially that there is a belief that Madeleine simply wandered off from her room and may have been abducted from a nearby supermarket. Apparently her scent leads out from a side room and goes cold at the supermarket which may be indicative of an abduction from that point.

If the Portugese police have drawn a blank and are puting their hands up to admit that they have no possible suspects) or any leads , then it is time to call on the help of the British police to try to resolve the matter. I just hope and pray that it will be a happy ending for her parents but I fear the worst in my heart. She's been gone too long now and no-one has yet come forward to lay claim to the substantial reward. I sincerely hope that I am wrong.
