I am already going to have a rant!
I am sick of rude people! I just got a rude email from a colleague saying he needs something important done 'NOW'! There was no 'Please' or 'May you'... He didn't even sign off on the email! Just 'I need this done now'!
It's not even as if it's my responsibility! It's just that he forgot to do it and is panicking!!!
Grrrrrrrrrr.... I don't care who you are... Manners cost nothing! Needless to say, I sorted the problem out within 5 mins and I got a measley 'thanks'. Pffft!

But my thinking is... if I had moaned or sent him an email asking for the magic word.. I would have felt good for about 5 mins but then he would have been annoyed and so on.... but if I do the work quickly and just as he asked... when the panic dissapears.. he will realise he was rude! And his own guilt will feel worse than me asking for a please!

Awww know how you feel Ruby, so annoying!!
I have an old college friend, who is a bit of a lad, where as I am all settled down (infact I was when we met at college) We meet up a couple of times a year for a drink. The thing is he tends to go on about the house he has bought with all the money he earns and how he has been working on all these important jobs etc, he can be very arrogant, then I watch him stifle laughs when I say about my job at school and how we can't afford to even go on holiday. Thing is he has told me in one of his drunken moments that he only ever wanted what I have as he has no-one and all girls basically use him for his money, but then if you listen to him it's all his way and the woman has to fall into his plans or she can get stuffed!
Anyway I text himt to say sorry I couldn't meet up with him and heard nothing. So I emailed him and I got a really rude reply saying yeah forgot to text you back, going away with so and so that weekend so wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. I felt like sending a rude reply back but have refrained myself and shall be busy the next time he calls!! He didn't even say hi or bye or sorry.
Manners cost nothing as you so rightly said!

Don't worry Wingnut... you let it out....
That is very rude! I don't have any friends like that thank god... otherwise I'd say something but at work I try to bite my tongue! It's different with colleagues as you can't choose them... you can choose your friends though!
I suppose it doesn't help that the day is so grey outside.. It looks so poo!

Rubes I understand what you are saying and I share you feelings about rude people.
I am not making excuses for this guy, but maybe he was so panicked out by this problem, he was trying to get his point to you and seek your help without thinking clearly. He knows how knowledgeable and reliable you are.
