Unfortunately when you get into deep divorce proceedings it takes on a life of its own and it is very difficult to get things moving along and it is very costly. As you have the decree nisi then I would have thought that you are near the end and the absolute is supposed to follow on. I do wonder at the wisdom of buying a house before the divorce is final, and the financial settlement is not agreed. However if your solicitor says it is ok then I suppose that is a professional opinion . All you can do is hassle the solicitor and make it clear you need things to move along. Has she got a house? Has he got any other pension apart from his army one ? Don't forget, the solicitor is acting for you and if the pension split is agreed, then instruct him to draw up that agreement accordingly. There should be a proper settlement drawn up, how much maintenance he is going to pay, whether he is giving her a lump sum etc. etc. and something to ensure that it is all done and final with no comebacks.
