What is going to happen now ??? They are killing each other. I'd pull out now and tell them, 'Right Guys' Youre problem bye !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1' Or tell the Gulf states you sort it out !!!! But there is Oil !!! Very similar to Northern Ireland here. I'd say tp the south 'Its yours ,you sort it !!' No Oil though !!!!!!!

So you think it's a conscionable action to walk in, and militarily or otherwise, interfere with a country, then when an insurgance occurs we wipe our hands and walk away?

To walk away at this point would only invite another religious fundamentalist leadership and revoke the one good thing to happen out of the whole fiasco (the removal of Hussien). Plus as you rightly point out...what cost of a few soldiers lives for the greater control of more oil resources.

As for your, at best naive, viewpoint on Norn Iron, I'll pass on comment for now thanks.

sft- heartily agree, except just like to point out saddam was not religious. ironic, given how unpleasent he was. also ironic that the us managed to remove the only secular govenment in the area.

Thanks for pointing out my ambiguousness there Inci. I was referring to the other coutries in the area as well. Though having said saddam was secular he could hardly be called democratic....makes you wonder what if any results will be ushered in shoul Iraq ever get round to elections.
