Does anybody else think that Princess Ann's slip in Guernsey has been given an inordinate amount of attention - the royal slips on a cobbled stone street, ends up in a sitting position, refused to be helped up by a well-meaning official, and gets accused of giving the gentleman a "tongue lashing" when all she did was to say that she could, basically get up herself, and didn't need any help.

yes i do, i think its proabably because she refused help, but then dont we all feel stupid when we fall over and want to dismiss the incident by getting straight up and carrying on as though nothing had happened.
I hadn't heard about it, so thanks for giving it the extra publicity.
I'd not heard about it either.
nope - this is the first i had heard about it
I hadn't heard of it, either, but would just like to say that I recently also gave a friend a right "tongue lashing" when he tried to help me get up after a fall. Embarrassment, I suppose. Does this mean that I have royal blood, do you think?
Someone who once worked for this Ann told me he thinks she must hold the record for {unknowing} spittle drinking.
