Not exactly current, but prompted by a program last night. She stands accused of using her position as PMs wife to make money from speaking engagements.
Bit of a devil's advocate question, but - so what? why shouldn't she?

Dave.
If the charity didn't think it was despicable, why should I? There is such a thing as abuse of power, but it would imply some sort of suggestion that if they didn't pay Cherie her husband would pass a law banning them or something. They invite her along because they think rich people will come along to listen and donate money. If they didn't think this, they wouldn't have to book her. It's all voluntary, all around.

If you want to see nepotism in action, look at 'Sir' Mark Thatcher. I don't see any evidence of anything like that with the Blairs.
You would think that being a socialist ,who belive in the rich looking after the poor, she would have done the cancer talk for free, but not that grabbing witch.
For all we know she probably gives generously to charity - dont you think that may be the case ?
Afterall many people do , without shouting from the roof tops about it
How cares?

Do people honestly think that politicians are in the job to help others? Nothing to do with their own egos? All mp's are on the fiddle in some way be it expenses, travel, "gifts" the list goes on and on.

I watch my mum and dad get all worked up over politics, my motto is don't vote and don't give a toss because they are all the same lol.

No-one's giving me a reason why using her husband's position was wrong, you're just saying 'she's greedy', which is a different thing.
well, I'm agreeing. And she's not a politician.
