Well done the BBC. Like all journalists they never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
the controller of BBC1 doesn't actually make these films himself and doesn't even watch them all either (he's got a channel to run). This one was made independently and the producers hyped it up as much as possible so the beeb would buy it, which is a fairly common procedure. Fincham repeated what he'd been told, only to find it wasn't true, so he apologised to all concerned. Mistake, but not a dishonest one.
some old woman?this is the woman who has gave her entire life serving this country ok she has handled some things very badly ie her misinterpratation of the depth of feeling by the public over princess dianas death but she has been steadfast in her role as queen............get to the tower brionon lol
oh I don't know, stokeace... I can't see why she should have had to follow public opinion over Diana's death; perhaps the public should have followed hers? Her job isn't to kowtow to public opinion; that's what we have politicians for. Anyway, the BBC got it wrong for whatever reason and apologised, which seems proper to me.
Have been watching the news, etc. But DO I CARE???? No I don't. Take your crown/tiara off, or not. There's too much to be genuinely concerned about. Tell the woman to GET A GRIP!! Count your blessings - no worries about living on a pension or being 'cared' for. Why should everyone who pays for your extremely privilged positon worry about whether you take your bl00dy crown/triara off. I should think that anyone who has their photo taken at 80+ should be extremely grateful that anyone cares!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see that I feel strongly about this. I have an 81 year old friend who can't get any help/assistance at all unless she pays for it out of an extremely low pension. Received, I may add, from the companywho employed her late husband who died when he was 40 (of cancer, if anyone wants to know) when she was in her late 30's. Since then, she has lost her only daughter of breast cancer at 43 yrs of age. And the Queen/BBC is worried about being told to take a tiara/crown off?? Grrr and many more times Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..................... Bet this answer is removed by the Ed. Please Ed, let me know your reasons for removal...
This is what happens when the Royal family get too close to the media. A week after the princes did their concert, the BBC are given an inch and take a mile. The princes should be told to get back to the palace - they are not celebrities, to be used by the media and then humiliated.
I want our royal family to be special, they are the envy of many countries. I don't want them appearing on Celebrity Big Brother thank you.
