So the BBC has, for the time being, stopped all phone in competitions, wonder how long it will be before other competition holders will be investigated, newspapers etc?

I keep away from these competions like the plague - especially the ones on late at night where there is a long gap between ' callers ' coming through to the studio

Are they really saying that no one rings in for up to several minutes since the last call ?
i cant believe millions of idiots ring these so called competitions there is only 1 winner..................and it aint joe public.
Reminds me of a question on one of those competitions

' name something a lady might keep in her handbag '

Answer = rawl ( probably spelt wrong ) plugs

Is that the Iron lady's handbag that you're referring to?

Some of the bingo games in the newspapers used to be suspect as it was known which area a winning card would be going to!
Not just about phone-ins though is it, this is the BBC and it is corrupt, they have cheated children, they have lied, and all they say is they will retrain the people involved, Retrain? what the hell, sack the bloody lot of em, it should be investigated by the police and charges brought against some of them if no charges are made, all the ones involved should be kicked out.
Why do they have to stop them altogether? Cant they just run them honestly?
Like most people who have responded so far, I wouldn't touch a phone in competition with a barge pole! The people that enter them need their heads examining!
The BBc is holding its hands up and admitting mistakes. The big point here is that they didn't charge premium rate for any calls, nor did they make money from them. Therefore I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, and certainly can't understand why anyone lost their job.

The iTV & Ch4 situations are very different - that was fraud.
