Eggheads, - someone needs to win the money shortly...

Thought the radio people were going to win the other night but just a slightly easier question for the eggheads (yet again) made them the losers. The producers must know by now exactly what sort of questions they are good at, i.e. Greek Gods, American Presidents, Musicals, Old Films and guaranteed questions on this every time, and why so easy on the first elimination round, its getting to me now....! I keep saying it, why not ask them the same questions, that way the quiz is farer and no-one can have easier questions than the other team. surely?

yeah ive noticed the egg heads gettin easier questions especially when it goes right to the wire, like most shows on t.v these days they are totally fixed.

I can't watch this show anymore it annoys me so much. The eggheads have always got easier questions it is definately fixed in their favour.

Don't you think you're looking at this the wrong way? The level of general knowledge of most of the challengers is appallingly low. The first three questions with multiple choice are usually not too taxing, yet they get an easy answer right and their teammates applaud like mad as if they'd won the prize money with that answer.

The eggheads are not called that for nothing - they have fantastic general knowlege amongst them all (although one or two are weaker) and if they don't know an answer initially, they can mostly invoke their knowledge to make a more than reasoned guess. A few days ago, Daphne didn't know the answer to two questions in her rounds so to say the eggheads get easier questions is rubbish in my opinion.

Incidentally, how many times when the challengers don't know an answer and it's passed over to the eggheads, do they not know it?

The challengers get to chose whether to first or second. The questions are only easy if you know the answers. I`ve watched University Challenge & answered quite a few right, but been wrong or not known the answer of the 1st question on WWTBAM.

The problem I have with eggheads is the smugness of the eggheads..

Particulary the orange one with the startled looking eyebrows, and the "fat" terry nutkins lookalike. Just thinking of their irating know it all smugness makes me want to reach for the nearest baseball bat and wipe those self obsessed smirks off their faces....

I agree that the eggheads have the advantage over most competitors in that they are practised logicians and can make a successful stab when they don't know an answer. But their smug superiority is really irritating. Especially when anyone else is answering and they just HAVE to nod their heads when an opponents answer is right, or look astonished when an opponent gets it wrong. Especially the young orange chap. Surely there's a team that could wipe the smug looks off their faces. Most of them won their titles 3,000 years ago.
