200 to pregnant women ?
14 Answers
Just on the news now that women who are 7 months pregnant are going to get 200 to help them eat healthily. It seems to me that any pregnant woman who is already watching what they eat will always carry on doing so and any pregnant woman who feasts on burgers etc will just have more money to go the chippy and get extra fags and booze. Am I being synical, I would be interested in your views.

This money will just be squandered by a fair few who already get more than enough in handouts as it is. Shame they don't spend the money on educating boys and girls about contraception instead!
Yes,i agree with that jiggy-gb.Seems like this has been discussed here:http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question45 3325.html
It's unnessessary to give it to all pregnant women, lots of people already have ample funds. it's the same as givings 200 per year to pensioners for their fuel bills when lots of pensioners are wealthier than young families, lots of people do need help but others are perfectly able to keep themselves.
What very sensible answers from the ABers, these sentiments must have been echoed throughout the nation.
What are we doing having idiot politicians, coming up with mad schemes like this?
The estimated cost of this mad-cap scheme is 70 to 80 million pounds, this amount of money would be better spent providing for more Mid-Wives.
