Carribean help
5 Answers
I am planning a vacation for Jan 2008. I am fairly set on the carribean but I am having trouble finding the best place to go/hotel to stay at.
The things of importance to me are great beaches, cleanliness of the hotel, and scenary. I am looking for more of a quiet place to relax, night life is not important. I have seen a few hotels but the prices seem very high.
Can anyone reccomend a hotel/island they think would meet my needs on a decent budget. It does not need to be very "cheap" but the top notch resorts are a little out of my price range.
Thanks for the help.

I stayed in a hotel called the Serenis Tropical Beach, it was everything you want. The people are fantastic, beach is fab, weather goes without saying, food lovely. I went to just relax and it is exactly what I did, although we did a couple of day trips, I would recommend the trip to Sayona Island - Fantastic!!! I also went swimming with sharks!!!! I would go back there like a shot, would not think twice.
Hope this helps.

Why not take a cruise and see a few places? You'll have a great floating hotel with great food and you can go to the beach at a different resort each day.
Best beaches in my opinion are in Bahamas, St Maarten, Barbados and Trinidad. It need not cost a fortune if you use an American travel agent as the UK just rips you off. Try Cruises 'n More or Vacations to Go then organise your own flight to Miami.

If you want a nice place in the Caribbean the resorts can be expensive and once you get off of the beach, the actual towns in a lot of cases aren't that great. The cruise idea is a good one. Eastern or Western Caribbean. You can spend the days on the beach and then have a great floating resort with everything you need. Try expedai.com or tripadvisor.com for traveler reviews. Another good site too is igougo.com
