Why no protests here?

One hundred thousand Americans have marched and protested in Washington against the war in Iraq. Yet no one seems to protest about the war in Afghanistan.
The British people are so apathetic, they couldn't care less either way, as long as they get their daily dose of reality TV, and Football.
And our Prime Minister is more interested in the deaths caused by the war in Darfur than the deaths caused by the wars Iraq & Afghanistan, where his very own troops are risking their lives.

Hi there kyra16
I think both our peoples have been sold a pup by our politicians. I don't think 9/11 had anything to do with Afghanistan (Pakistan, yes that is where the terrorist training camps are). And in our case there were no weapons of mass destruction, as Blair would have us believe.
I too have 2 Grandson's out there in Afghanistan, so I too have a vested interest.

The British people are so apathetic because they are finally beginning to realise that they are "governed" by career politicians who continuously lie to them, and are only interested in keeping their snouts in the political trough.
When they (the people) come to realise that there is no real alternative as even the opposition parties' politicians are of the same ilk, then they will become even more apathetic. Roll on the Revolution!

Whole pile of stuff devoted to how ignorant, rude, unpleasant, etc., etc., I am. Seem to've found a few allies, but felt compelled to extend my apologies further. However - since then (a few hour's ago now) - some posts to equal things've turned up! I've behaved myself, and tried not to get involved!!! Rather boring though.
Hold on stokemaveric give me time, I don't sit at my computer 24/7 just waiting to respond to your pointless contributions.
But to answer your remark, my Grandsons are professionals, given a job by the politicians, and they will carry it out to completion, even with one hand tied behind their backs.
Only mike1222 and jno have given answers anywhere near to my question, although someone has yet to address Brown's concerns over Darfur,. We have enough on with Iraq and Afghanistan, let the African nations sort out the Sudan.

It shows the intention of fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by the US is not what we have been told. Who is the surge aimed at. The Sunnis, the Shias or Al Qaeda? No, the purpose, as mentioned by others, are the oil reserves in Iraq and preventing Iran from controlling them.
The real villian of the peace is Bin Laden. Why have no surges taken place to root him out?

I'm no brain box but if the problem was Bin Laden and his crew then why were we ever in Iraq.
Yes saddam was a tyrant but he wasn't the one who did 9/11 or am I missing some thing else.
Why did they catch Saddam so quickly yet can't seem to lay their hands on BinLaden?
Why is the UK involved at all? This was not a strike against the UK but the US. Isn't it down to them?
No offence to the US but why are we fighing their battle?
They never helped us fight the IRA.
Sorry if these question seem daft but I see so many people giving reasons on tv I just thought I would like to hear joe publics view on these matters.
