Im not being funny but why is everyone over looking that fact that Mother McCann gave her child sleeping pills and went out for a meal?

Would everyone be so sensitive if this woman was a 22yr old single mum claiming benefits from Bermondsey Job Centre?

Im just putting it out there.....dont shoot me down....i am just curious as to people opinions?

People aren't being sensitive. They're queuing up to put the boot in, and positively getting off on it.

Hello - no judgement but she did not apparantly give her daughter sleeping pills - I think it was supposed to be just a spoonful of calpol (I may be wrong) as it stands, I agree entirely with your sentiments - there are too many kids that go missing all over the world, why is this one so special? Maybe because of her parent's profession?

No one has proved one way or another whether she was given sleeping pills. Until then, like most things involved in this case, it's pure speculation.

Yes, more than likely if that Bermondsey woman was on holiday at the time and the local police bungled the case from the word go.

I don't think anyone is overlooking the speculation (it is not a fact) that she was sedated. It has been talked about and written about endlessly.

I'm sure the McCann's story is being written differently because they are a middle-class professional couple.

Eyebrows - i think everyone or most people agree that the McCanns were indeed extremely unwise and quite honestly stupid to have left child(s) in a room on their own. It takes mere seconds for c hild to hurt themselves and possibly bleed to death, so saying they only ppoed out for 30 mins is ridiculous.

Any normal parent would make sure that their child was looked after or at least with them at all times.

This argument will be addressed, im sure after this whole thing comes to light. The sleeping pills has not yet been proved. Thought the whole situation does not stack up , lets be honest. There is something fishy going on IMHO.

lol i know it seems popular, but its actually starting to annoy me with all teh coverage she is gettting.......

despite the fact even if she was drugged of not, why was she left alone, why was none of teh other kids taken?

And I do believe Kerry Needham was a single mum, who received as much publicity as this case is currently having. I find it incredible that these parents are being vilified because they've doggedly kept their daughters plight in the media spotlight. What would you have them do? Bu88er off back to the UK and forget it?

Don't understand why there always has to be a conspiracy. I think the photo is genuine, whether it is her or not is another matter.

Agree that they are getting a lot of help financially and media wise that the liked of single parent on benefits as you say.

I just think that it's the fact that they want her back is driving the campaign..... wouldnt you go this far? I would!

why would a 22 year old single mum betting state benefits from the dole office in Bermonsey be on holiday in Portugal?
That's a waste of taxpayers money if you ask me. Benefits should be to feed, clothe and house poor unfortunate families who have no jobs through no fault of their own not paying for a single mum to swan around the Algarve or anywhere else for that matter ;-)

Why this one child? Because her parents have been savvy enough to make sure she's never far from peoples minds. The picture of the child in Morocco is a perfect example. If they weren't so tireless in their campaign, do you honestly think that a Spanish holiday maker would have taken that picture of the child and forwarded it to the authorities, if it wasn't for the fact that Madelieline's 'story' is being kept alive?

i can guarantee you that when i have children, i will not be going out and leaving them unattended at home....

I just googled that woman, and it says the child was with grandparents at the time.....

all i am saying is (in a very insenstive way) is that if they really cared for teh child that much why was she left alone liek that?

The sleeping pill issue is irrelevent - what sane parent would leave their children alone in a hotel room at that age?

What did they think could possibly go wrong with that idea?

I hope that Maddy is returned safe and well and my thoughts and prayers are with her and her only, no sympathy for the parents. Even if they are found not guilty of whatever they end up being charged with (if anything at all) they are still guilty of gross negligence.

No-one is saying that what they did was right, but as it has happened now and can't turn back the clock and all that -why not just let the Mccans do what they want to do as far as trying anything possible to get their daughter back?

I wouldn't leave my child alone either, but that can't be a reason for getting annoyed at the Mccans, they are trying to put things right and I would be doing the same!

No one's claiming that leaving them alone in the apartment was the right thing to do. It's had terrible consequences and one that, whatever the outcome, they have to live with for the rest of their lives. I'm sorry, but I can't bring myself to wish that on my worst enemy, and I truly can't understand anyone who believes they deserve this agony.

Yes Ben was staying at his grandparents- however, it's obvious that he was out of sight for however long it took him to be abducted/ go missing or whatever. However that's not the point I was trying to raise with it eyebrows. I was pointing out that Kerry was indeed a single mum, and she received just as much publicity at the time.
