stealth tax
Labour is to bring in a stealth tax of 28p for each bin bag you put out which in our case is another 5 per week.
What was 3 pounds a week under the 1979 labour government will now be 30 per week on wages that have been lowered by at least 70% since the tory scumbags took power in 79

You say each bag is 28p and it will cost you 5 a week.
That is about 17 bags a week. Do you really get though 17 bags. If so I cannot believe you are recycling.
You also say wages have been lowered by 70% since 1979.
Whose wages. I cannot believe ANYONE is earning less than they were in 1979.
Please explain, your question make little sense.

Marvelman, they don't need to figure out who left what bag where. The system works by the consumer having to buy special bags, then leaving them for the dustmen. they only take the special bags. They will be sold at newsagents, supermarkets etc. I welcome it, hopefully it will teach the thick plonkers round here the difference between recyclable stuff and other waste.
It's Labour doing this so even a dipstick like you can't blame the Tories, voted labour did we?? mmm

I hear that each binbag will be barcoded and that you'll have to take along your ID card to buy them. The contents of every binbag will be sifted and will go on a big government database so they can spy on you.
And the tax that's raised will be used to send immigrants on morris dancing courses. It's an outrage! Why oh why ...

The Government is holding a consultation on variable charging for waste prior to the publication of a new waste strategy next year.
A spokesman for Defra said that charges might be needed because recycling rates had tripled over the past decade but some people were still not making use of the recycling facilities provided.
Meanwhile, the cost of dealing with waste was rising and the amount of waste produced was rising at around three per cent a year.
So this is actually a consultation not a foregone conclusion.
Besides which isn't paying for what you use rather than lumping the cost into one big "socialised" fee a rather Tory principal?
The simple fact of the matter is that landfill sites are overflowing and costs of dumping are rising.
So 2 choices - lump it all on the council tax or charge those who throw away more, more money.
As you say lovejoy - it really isn't difficult

For the re-cycling scheme to work properly, all councils must start collecting everything that can be re-cycled. This would then be taken to a re-cycling depot to be sorted. Then once a week (or so) it could be collected from each depot and then taken to the appropriate re-cycling plants around the country. Our council only re-cycle certain items and the rest have to go in the normal waste bin. The government really must do better!
Loosehead, i have never voted Labour in my life you thick moron, dont insult me just because i have a different opinion than you, there are too many of your sort on AB, morons who can not post an answer without insulting someone, you dont bother me little man , you are just an irritating piece of s!it .
Marvelman, where have I insulted you? My second paragraph was aimed at the poster of the question. That's why I left a blank line, see?? In my paragraph aimed at you the "thick plonkers" bit was referring to people in my area. You really should read things a bit more carefully and perhaps remove that sack of spud off your shoulder.
