scary story

does anyone know a scary story involving a man (traveller?) who goes to a house (possibly more than once but not sure) and at the end the female(?) occupant points a finger(or lack of one) at him and shouts "it was you!" as he was supposed to have cut it off in the past? Not much info i know but i remember it scared the life out of me!

It's the kind of story dads tell to small children - the plot is not important, but you spin a long tale about a travelling salesman who visits the house of an old lady, passes that way again, and she accuses him of stealing her little finger - end up in a very quiet voice with the lady whispering "I know who it was who stole my fiinger, and if you come closer I'll whisper to you ..." the kids move in for the answer, and you suddently thrust out your fist with your little finger tucked under and shout "It was YOU!" as loud as you can.
