I would much prefer to read a story like that and know that the ridiculous sum paid will be used on them and their families as opposed to famous people who have plenty already!
My granddad is in a similar situation, he is 78 and his wife of 40 years died two years ago (she was 84). Since her death he met a lady who lost her husband around the same time, and so they started going out for drinks together and the occassional meal just for a bit of company. Now, they have been "together" for about a year He now lives with his daughter and although she lives on her own her family do not think she should be out cavorting. I think it is wonderful though.
He goes for a coffee and his single daily cigarette in the morning, then picks her up around ten and they take a drive to the coast or somewhere, then he drops her home in the afternoon and they meet up again in the evening to go out for dinner. I only hope that I will have someone to spend my time with so wonderfully when I am that age X
