Just popping out to M&S for a J-cup bra

Researchers say less exercise, more calories and the side-effects of the contraceptive pill have combined to increase the average size of women's clothes from 12 in the 1950s to 16 today.

Marks and Spencer has responded by introducing the J-cup bra to its on-line store.

So why the jump to J?

I was in M&S yesterday checking out their evening dresses (well I am pushing 40) when I stumbled upon the bra section.

I was most delighted to find my cup size..no mean feat, I tell you..then was completely amazed to see a GG cup ~ practically unheard of in a high street store!

Good for them. Can we have some nice lacy ones, please M&S?

Did anyone see the "Trinny & Susannah Undress The Nation" TV show, (8.00pm) when they did reasearch on Bra sizes?

They found that most Women do not know their correct Bra size, and Bra sizes differ from different stores.

It was also very funny to see the way a woman can find their cup size by immersing their bust in water, and then weighing the displacement of water.

Apparently there was a number of complaints to ofcom about ITV showing this programme before the 9'oclock watershed, saying that young children could be viewing.

This I thought was ironic seeing the blasting I got from some on this site, when I complained about the two Gays indulging in a passionate kiss on Emmerdale (7.00pm).

I really feel for women who wear a j cup, just experiencing a GG cup for a week after giving birth was horrendous. I looked so miserable that my mum went out and spent 55 quid on a bra tha would fit me in the full knowledge that it would be used for only a matter of days.

I have a friend who thinks she is a 36 G she more like a 42 c but some women dont like to admit they are tubby tubby lard arses lol

Also, I cant mention it enough a size 12, in the 1950s was a lot smaller than it is now. Thats why we have the dawn of the size zero, the rest of us are getting fatter but the skinnier are still just as skinny. Contraceptive pill might be partly responsible for breast changes but it has not a lot to do with our increasing waist sizes. it has been proven that a womens weight gain should be no more than 3lbs on any pill. Its flipping cake retention, pill or not, if you ate 1500 calories a day you would more than likely maintain or lose weight.

My friend from college was a J-cup. Her mum used to have to pay her friend to make them for her. She has such bad back ache from them.

My niece can often be found using my bra as a hat, strange child that she is.

What we did see is what most chlldren see while Mummy is bathing or dressing or even on their holidays. And seeing that I read that some Children are still being breast fed even to the age of five or six, they know that breasts are foremost a means of feeding.

I think your problem was that some of the breasts on display did not match up to the centre fold type. But then are these indeed real breasts or just silicon enhanced?

It may well be a silly comparison but saying that a gay kiss is worse than seeing naked women at 8 pm is a ridiculous notion to most people. I have no problem with seeing naked men or women in a non sexual way on the telly. I also have no problem with a gay kiss, does a heterosexual kiss on Emmerdale bother you as well?

I also don't see the irony in the complaints either.
