This country is being run by Muppets!!
Earlier today we had fishermen having to dump cod into the sea because we are not allowed to land them - stocks have to be preserved!!
Later today, once again our Chancellor is having to "apologise" for an idiot in the Inland Revenue who has lost computer disks with the personal details of 15 million people who get Child Benefit (all of them presumably).
Yesterday we had Mr Darling explaining it was all the press's fault for the problems at Northern Rock (no, it was because they borrowed money they couldn't pay back!). Now we have Paragon in trouble with the same thing.
Now down in the South West, we have the local water authority going into the timeshare business by building lots of timeshare flats by a reservoir in an area of outstanding national beauty.
All this and Gordon Brown fell asleep during the Remembrance Day service!
You couldn't make it up!

The labour party today is the tory party of 20 years ago. For example until this govt when was the labour party ever known for prudence?
I onced asked a lecturer at university what he thought about politics and he said it was: "All a load of bo***cks"
More and more people are getting wise to it hence at every local and general election voting levels reach a new low because of voter apathy.
personally Im right wing on some things and left on others but will never vote (I haven't since I was 18) because what will change?
Nothing.

MPs and councillers aren't some mythical species, they are just ordinairy people.
There is nothing to stop you or anyone else standing for election or forming a political party.
If we all sit back and say I am not going to bother to vote then the inept MPs have won.
If you are not happy join a political party, or form one.

Let the inept MP's win. We already have because they are already elected. I dont agree with a lot of labour policies and the same can be said of the conservatives so I don't vote.
I dont want to join a political party or form one I just keep my head down and get on with things and let it blow over my head because i can do nothing about it.

There's no excuse for voter apathy rev, it's your democratic duty to vote in an election. A non-vote isn't a protest vote, it means nothing, if you want your voice heard vote for one of the smaller partys, at least choose one whose policies are the closest to how you think the country should be run.
So skreech if I voted for a small party what would I be achieving? They aint going to be in a position to put forward their policies. Protest vote doesn't wash either because the parties don't care.
I couldn't give a monkeys chuff about voting because the majority of people are under the misapprehension that political parties are actually bothered about the voter. get in power and do what we want, we did say we were going to do that but we've changed our minds.

Yeah but there are more than 2 parties! If a significant amount of people vote for one of the smaller parties and there ends up being no overall majority in government, then the parties all need to come to agreements on policies. Look what's happening with the hung parliament in Scotland, the parties all get the opportunity to put forward ideas and negotiate outcomes and vote on policies, even though there's one party with more seats, they don't have a clear majority so they aren't able to do what they like, which is what always happens at westminster because too many people think there are only 2 parties!

Speak for yourself...I'm already out of touch and corrupt.
Actually, think about it...wouldn't it be brilliant to for a political party who's slogan was:
OUT OF TOUCH AND CORRUPT
There's something subverse about that...you would certainly get a proportion of people voting for them ("Well, at least they're honest"...that kind of thing).
