Can we keep both the new and the old?

I prefer the old for speed and ease of reading. But, it is a different experience (note I didnt say better or worse) to view the other poster via their avatars or not.

At present its great to dip into one and then the other. However if you were to only run one system, then forced to choose, I think you would have to come up with a more democratic system than the rather limited 'have your say' pollsters

Since the 'beta' version came out I've not touched the old site. The new site does everything the old site do and more.

yes, I'm with you on this one ruby & I said exactly the same thing this morning when I emailed the Ed from the dungeon!
I think though that it's going to be one or the other.

I have already reverted back to the old one.

Too much wasted space on the new one so there is too much scrolling. As Ruby says, speed and ease of reading.

the new one seems to boot me out every so often and I have to sign in again. (So does Sports.) I could leave the old one on all day, which I am doing.

I 've been dodging between the two ..I do like the avatars ..not too bothered about all the other gubbins though .It's OK for bumbling around the site but in my favourite category which is Q&P it's hopeless so I use the normal format for that. The novelty wore off ! It's too big for the small ,mostly one line Q's.You can flick through the old format quickly ....this is too much scrolling .
I would like to see them both running together but I have a sinking feeling that won't be the case .

Hi ruby - I don't mind either, although I do like the avatars & friendly PM facilities.

Have to say, the new set up does take up an awful lot of space tho', 'specially for one liners. ;o}

Now I can't embed youtube on either old or new, and my avatar - which it picked up from Sports answerbank - has gone missing

Both for me, please. New one is prettier, with all those cute avatars (how many people have dogs?), and the message function is good because I can still use it when I'm incarcerated. Also, I can get into Q's I Answered, which I still can't with the old one. But the old one is easier to read and post on.

I have looked at the new AB and even posted the avatar I use elsewhere - but have reverted to the old AB for speed and ease of reading.

I will never use the PM function and much prefer the original format.

It's happened again!

Each time I post answer it drops out showing an error. I type & send it again, then they both turn up!

are you posting via New AB, smudge? Because I've been having a lot of trouble with double posting on that, and have twice been thrown in the dungeon overnight as a result, so I've reverted to Old AB for posting.
