Sudan is a Less economically developed country with almost zero military strength.
Why are we letting such a puny country slap us in the face.
resolution should be simple.
1) stop all aid and freeze assets and demand IMMEDIATE release and compensation
2) if not released threaten economic sanctions
3)if they still dont listen...mobilse coalition battle group or strategic strike force.

No she should not be shot. She was arrested, charged with three offences, given a trial, found guilty of one offence and given a sentence (which was 2 weeks - maximum sentence could have been a lashing and 6 months). In my opinion a fair verdict - I am sure she didn't mean offence, however she still broke the law (and the 'children voted for it' argument is ridiculous as squarebear points out above)
Just remember all of you who are saying that it is ridiculous - she is an immigrant and broke the law.
I doubt that you would all be on your high horse if an immigrant broke the law in this country and was subsequently treated leniently.

I know people think I am a prophet of doom, but we have had glimpses of this very close to home - the Danish cartoons and the London street demonstrations.
What is happening in Khartoum could well be repeated in UK not too many years from now - unless we are very very vigilant.
(I am actually sitting here hoping against hope that a street demo WILL start up here. Go on lads, carry on shooting at your feet. )
