It is good to see the law applied here in the same way as anyone else would be treated.

I have known motorists go at that speed and more and escape a ban, and others get a longer ban.

So no problems with it as far as I'm concerned.

I have no problems either. He stepped down from his road policing job after he was arrested, he's pleaded guilty and is doing his penance the same as anyone else.

For once, he and the courts have done absolutely the right thing and I don't for a minute think he should lose his job because of it.

This hypocrite should have been banned for a year. As chairman of Road Traffic Policing on ACPO he should be setting an example. He had already been fined for TWO previous traffic offences so he had his warning. Teachers and doctors receive harsher penalties than the general public when they transgress in their fields. This dangerous lunatic deliberately drove 30mph over the limit but he has the gall to preach to drivers who drift 5mph over the limit and lose their licences.
