so you've never needed them then? what an absolute moron, I'm not too impressed with them at the moment but this pay thing is right out of order.

If they went on strike, that's illegal, so we'd have to call the ......oh bu66er!
They do a thankless job and then when they do catch the scum and filth that spoil this country of ours, they're let off by out of touch judges with a little slap on the wrist. Who's at fault here, the police or the judicial system? And to add insult to injury, those police officers probably had to spend god knows how many hours completing pathetic paperwork for said court case, just to please money grabbing solicitors who get murderers, rapists, kiddy f!ddlers etc off on 'technicalities'.

They deserve every penny they get and then some. Next time you need them perhaps you'll realise.
if you don't like the police, you have every right to vote for the political party that pledges to abolish them.
Give them the money and the rest of the public servants with them
Take it you're not a policeman then? When you say 'malpractises of the law', do you mean that you disagree with the sentences handed out by the courts? If so, you can't blame the police for that - as jiggy points out.

Ok thanks for your response.
Loosehead To call me a moron witha tag like that is rather shallow & no i have never needed a policeman for anything. They are nothing but working class traitors who are enjoyed by the haves, & bully the have nots who can become the scapegoat in order to satisfy the lynch mob.
Good point Jiggy about the parasites who go under the name of Solicitors.
Mushroom, it may be a good idea to stay in the dark
Naomi, spot on I am not a bobby, however you are correct on, the system does leave a lot to be desired when it comes to handing out punishment I was refering to the occasions when innocent ,people, who the police judge should be there are given rough justice in order to keep up with their league tables.
fletcher, what do you mean the police are enjoyed by the haves and bully the have nots? Can you expand on that?
Why should they not get the money that was promised to them? Would you be happy if you got a rise from the beginning of September and then told that you couldn't have it until January? This Government are totally unfit for purpose and should all resign with immediate effect!
The basis of a removal of their right to strike from their T&Cs of employment was that an independent body would review their salary. Whilst there might not have been a legal obligation for the Home Secretary to implement the recommendations, this is the first time a Home Secretary has decided not to do this.
However the comparision with what's happened in Scotland on police pay is tripe - either they run their own affairs up there or they don't. Folks can't make the comparisions just when it suits their particular point of view.
If you have never needed a policeman for anything

a) are one of the 'haves' as opposed to the 'have nots'
b) live in the Outer Hebrides
c) Are 15 years old

If you have never needed to call them or even presumably spoken to them, how do you know what they are like and how they treat people?

I will expand on what I stated.
An innocent man going about his everyday business, is suddenly set upon by 3 men, who pump 7 bullets into his head in a frenzied murderous attack on a busy railway station. Witnesses were in abundance but no convictions were ever made.
There are countless other examples
ive spent half my life in prison thanks to the police (or rather my actions and getting caught) but I know we would all be in seriouse trouble without them, have a rethink mate, this country would be bang in trouble, for a start we would be overtaken by imagrants and probably be in a state of civil war if that is the correct term.
don't try arguing with fools vic, you'll never get through this level of density.
Just a quick piece of advice to Fletcher - It's obvious from your rant that you don't have a high regard for the Police, so the next time your house gets broken into or a member of your family is attacked then phone a drug dealer and see how you get on.

Many thanks people for your contributions.
Kathyan, may I refer to you as Ms Cameron as you seem to have adopted his mentality of the resignation obbsession.
Once the Tories get back in they will enhance the police salaries, bear in mind what they will have to do to earn it. The Thatcher mentality has not gone away from their policies as I am sure you will experience, as I & millions of others did.
Builders mate, the script here is that it is a ruling system v their protection system which in turn drags you into the plot because the protection regime consists of the working man (bobby)
Oneeyed vic I have never needed the assistance of a policeman & I live on Merseyside chew on that one.
Mattymat has obviously seen the error of his ways. I hope your time in prison did not concern crimes against your own class? you are not wrong about the possibility of civil unrest, but politicians cause that ,not the police, the police are put in place protect the people who cause civil unrest.
Finally, Loose head. Have you finished knitting that cardigan yet ?

Would anybody like to contribute to question 2

I think policemen deserve every penny, and I dont blame them for feeling aggrieved. I also think that they are let down time and time again by the judicial system. I also think that they are held back from propoer policing by all these targets they have to meet. No different than schools and local authorities. They also have the PC (no pun intended) Brigade to contend with on top of everything else.
Loosehead described as a cardigan knitter (and presumably liberal) - now that has made me laugh.
