I am trying to comprehend why certain faiths are said to be getting the ump over The Nativity play? Or is it a case of the PC brigade attempting to stamp their moronic morals on peoples popular culture, so as not to offend members of other sects.?After all it is a story FROM the east. Who agrees, that the very people who these morons are trying to protect, are laughing at us,& not being upset by us? Come on a person who was born by the Immaculate deception. & who conducted miracles, who wouldn`t laugh. Your views would be welcome. PS Merry Xmas
No one should be offended by a traditional story wether they are Christians or not . I'ts just the same as turkey, pudding, crackers and carols a western tradition that makes xmas festive and fun. If I was permanantly living in another culture by choice I would be more than happy to carry out their traditions and festivals as well as my own and I think that the majority in this country are. Too many councils interfere- they should leave everything as it is and anyone who does not want to take part does not have to!
Thats fine Isis if it were so - but its not. In general people are afraid t speak out because whatever festival, belief or what have you gets twisted. We are being told that 'Christmas' is not 'Christmas' its the 'Holiday season' I for one will always celebrate christmas as christmas, that is how was brought up and I think - no, I know - that I am far too old to change, and wouldn't do anyway. I also agree with you comments on other cultures, I would be expected to do the right thing. If you dont agree with something, yes, you can have an opinion but I say live and let live.
I fully agree. each country and faith should be allowed to celebrate in their own traditional way without fear of upsetting other faiths. in britain we have allowed all religions to worship as they feel fit, build their own churches synagogues, mosques etc, and in return the councils and morons should leave our christmas nativity and religious worship alone, after all, it only preaches kindness and good will TO ALL MEN.
Nice one thundercrack. However why does the slogan good will to all men only apply to the 25th December?
Even the working class troops in 1914 had a truce, swapped goods, pleasantries & had a game of football, much to the disgust of their leaders.
merry christmas all,
my little girl, 4, went to church, dressed as an angel, to sing carols, better than nothing i suppose, the vicar did say if you take the christ out of christmas your left with m & s. that about sums up christmas really these days.
moved out of london to get away from this stupid, cant do stuff! and its not just christmas, pc has gone mad!
