Bet this guy wished he'd stayed in Burnley. What posesses anyone to emigrate to this lawless place?
I know several South Africans who have moved to UK and have gone through the naturalisation process. One of them even supports England at rugger now! They say they have given up on the place. Is SA going the way of Zimbabwe?

Had the same thought myself,
With the political unrest, and blatent bias towards whites in that country, seemed a totally daft decision to upsticks to go and live there.

Love to know what both him and his wife were thinking when they made that desicion.
It would have to have been because of the weather!
Sadly people get shot in the UK too,
Indeed they do Ethel but it tends not to be just your average family, pottering about their house in the evening! (You must know abit about South Africa?!)
They must have been totally aware of the dangers of everyday living though, as the murderers got past their 7' barbed wire defence walls!
A friend of my father is desperate to leave South Africa since apartheid ended because of the constant everyday threat of being murdered on a whim but there is some kind of law which prevents you taking large sums of money out of the country, so he is stuck. (Does anyone know what this is, or if it's true?)
Wasn't Bill Cosby's son murdered out there a few years ago just getting out of his car to go into his house?
My girlfriend was born and lived in Zimbabwe as a child then moved to South Africa. She has worked in the UK for many years in a highly respected post but regularly goes back to her home and children.
She's been robbed there several times despite being very security conscious. I think it is only a matter of time before she decides that the benefits of SA (the weather and the space) are not worth putting against the things she dislikes so much about this country (the weather and lack of space).
