I know this is prob a bit serious for a Sat nite but does anyone agree with me that what the McCanns are doing is disgusting - i mean would you be thinking about making a film out of your missing child? I thought it bad enuf when they asked for a trust fund to be set up cos they needed the money to pay for their mortgage and other expenses incurred whilst the police were investigating.

Is there a link confirming there'd be a film? I heard rumours of a documentary- which i presume they hope will keep her in the headlines, but not a film?

well now im not sure - originally there was talk but in the mail today theres talk of a �1m deal for a chat show. Reason the McCanns are considering it is because "their �1.2m Find Madeleine appeal fund will dry out by June'.

I just find it so heartless especially as the original fund came out of the public's pockets. Am I just being inconsiderate and coldhearted?

I don't have a problem with it. It'll all go to the fund. And how else are they supposed to keep funding Metodo 3 to find out what happened to their daughter seeing as the Portguese police still think they did it and are totally useless anyway.

I think view points depend on which conclusion you have come to in your own head , If they are victims of a hideous crime then fairs fair , lets help them if you don't then don't help them , fact is that Maddie is still missing and someone knows what has happened to her
There will be many questions , rumour and wild imaginative thoughts going around but I feel that there lives will never be the same again and the least people can think of is there other children who deserve as normal a life as possible given the circumstances........

good point Tufty - I guess at the end of the day regardless of whether the parents had any part in it - her sister and brother are old enuf to miss their sister and they will prob never forget and may even need counselling.
I just feel her parents could maybe find another way to raise the money without hoping/expecting the public will help.

If it was my child i would do anything that i thought would help get that child back whether people liked the idea of it or not

Look lets get this straight -the McCanns have NOT agreed to making a film about their daughters disappearance -this was cleared up weeks ago -dont know why you have just stumbled upon this old news now.

They have however agreed to allow her story to be part of a docu regarding missing children..
THAT is the truth of the matter and as long as people believe the papers and perpetuate this nonsense then they have no chance.

Now that is FACT

Keep your hair on! I only asked what people's view was.
I read the article in the paper about 2 offers to appear on a US chat show. Id also read the reason they were considering it was because they needed the money as their funds were running low and were needed so they can continue paying their mortgage and investigators.
Are you their press agent by any chance as you seem to know all the facts!!!!!! I
