Is this another nail in the coffin for British patriotism, or the thin end of the wedge towards conversion to the Euro?
Oh for a strong politician like Margaret Thatcher who stepped in and persuaded British Airways to change back from their ridiculous attempt to make it's plane's more "Ethnic" friendly.

What do ABers suggest the logo should be on the new coin?

Wether its Roman or not it is now part of our culture. 2000 years is a long time and to be honest whats the problem with it. It's not hurting anyone so why change it.
As for AOG being unbritish,(at the risk of getting it in the ear from Bewlay) I can't for the life of me see how the question could be considered unbritish in the least.
I think Bewlay is just stirring it and to be honest that really isn't british at all old boy. That sort of behaviour just isn't cricket.

You are of course right tigerlily, but I am just proving a point (albeit to my self) that if somebody cause me ignorant (on another thread) all because they disagree with me, I shall offend them quite easily, as I have done here.
The old fart will probably want proof, so what more can I say apart from his own admission, eh?
I may be low life, ignorant peasant scum but I have the power to annoy AOG with just a few words. And that my dear, in my meaningless little world, means a hell of a lot!!!
It has been fun and hopefully he will learn to be a little more respectful to younger folk. like I am to the elderly of Britain!!

I don't understand why you would take your time to do it. Its all a bit pointless over something like whats on the back of a coin.
I stand by my statement that it is a part of us but really Bewlay it's not worth so much animosity. Aog is just voicing a frustration that so many people in this country feel at being denied what we consider to be an identity.
Yes I know we don't have much room to talk about taking poeples identities because we have had the habit in the past of pushing our way of life on others, but thats still does not make it right to remove ours. As well as the bad things Britain has given the world many good things and it still dose. We diserve a little respect.
And I still do not see where exactly AOG is being unbritish.
I don't know about the incident you refer to but it's just silly to cause all this over a thing like a coin.
Take a few insults in good grace because at the end of the day it's just words and they can't hurt you. That is the british thing to do.
They might irritate you for a little while but it passes and there are to many great things being read and said to waste your time on the bad.

Looking at your incredible "unBritishness" AOG, I am sure you will like it Posted by BB on Sun 27/01/08 at 15.20 hours.
Since your last ridiculous posting, (branding a 107 year old German patriot a Nazi) Posted by AOG on Sun 27/01/08 at 15.57 hours. MY ONLY REFERENCE TO THE WORD NAZI
When asked for proof of my Un-Britishness your reply BB was
Well if my above second paragraph wasn't proof, then you are right---there is no proof.
The second paragraph you referred to.
your apparent acceptance of Lutfwaffe volunteers.
Please note you stupid boy that you called me un-British even before my reference to a patriotic old German man, although you said this was the proof I asked for. (see above)
So therefore the conclusion is "Well if my above second paragraph wasn't proof, then you are right---there is no proof. (your words)

AOG, I am so glad you read my last post (just a few up) and truly understood the sentiments behind it.
Perhaps it is about time you give power of attorney to one of your soldier sons, because clearly old chap your reading is so selective and blind, your are losing your marbles.
Just a polite observation, you senile old duffer.
