Pink Hair Dye

I have dark brown hair and I want to dye it pink but i don't want to do it blonde first, if i dye it pink the first time what will it look like? is it gonna be like an off pink pale color? or will it still be dark brown with a pink shade or what? if you can tell me or if you have a pic or something that would be great.

Um, I tried to dye my hair from dark brown to bright red before but there aren't really dyes that can do it without you bleaching it first. All you'll get is a pink shine or a pink glow on brown hair but your hair will still be mostly brown.

when I did mine over dark blonde hair it was quite a dark pink, think you will just have a hint of pink in yours, you would probably need to bleach it if you want it any more vibrant. try using Directions or Stargazer as these wash out easily.

for pink to take you need to have your hair taken back to "nothing". This is not a technical term! I can't remember what hairdresser called it.

Firstly, I wouldn't advise all over pink hair. If u're naturally dark, then i'm assuming u have a fair complexion. Red tones on a pale complexion looks hideous (see Vivienne Westwood for prime examples!!). Pink hair extensions is the way forward. They're fairly cheap if u have the odd strand done and usually cost around �2-3 each. If u then get used to the extensions and decide u want it done on a permanent basis then the only way is to have a natural Hi Light (a non bleaching technique) and have the pink added over that!!

I'm a guy by the way incase any of you were wondering so the extensions isnt what i'm going for, and i mostly wanted the top half of my hair done, kinda of like chester from linkin park if any of you remember when he had pink hair, that color but i don't want down by the roots done, thanks for all of the advice though
