A man told his wife he was leaving her to live in Canada with another woman so she stabbed him with a pair of scissors. Is this justice?
I can't do the cut and pastey thing!

And you even use woolly, speculative phrases like "as far as I can see", while still believing that you must be correct and the judge must be wrong.
NB - Nobody is suggesting she had any right to wield a knife and stab. That's why she's been convicted and sentenced for a criminal offence.

I read in the news last week of a lorry driver that was killed when a youth deliberately threw a brick off a motorway bridge onto the lorry. He got jailed for 3 months for manslaughter. He should have got life for murder because he chose to throw that brick onto that lorry so he knew damn well what he was doing.
It's like attempted murder, they get off with a lighter sentence because they didn't succeed with the murder. It's the same thing, if you attempt murder, the punishment should be the same as murder ( which is never long enough in my opinion but that's another story............don't get me going )

Incidentally, 123, (not that I expect this to properly filter through), here are some more mitigating factors that will (quite rightly) have reduced the sentence.
- She pleaded guilty.
- She wasn't wielding the knife. He was holding it and pointed it at his chest.
- The judge bore in mind (and I quote) her 'distraught state', which suggests that she wasn't acting rationally or with malice aforethought.
- The judge also remarked that she pushed the knife with 'not a great deal of force'
- And that he was satisifed that she was 'not intending to cause serious injury'.
Shame. It sounds much more sensationalist on Ceefax.
