I would give this man a medal and give him the job of Chief Constable of Britain.

"live by the sword" etc.

PS.

I am glad the robber is dead.
Maybe the decent thing would have been to let the robber kill him.

His family could have got 20 compo.

Killer released in 2 or 3 years to kill again.
This man was killed with his own knife whilst attempting to commit armed robbery.

Deserves all he got - one less wastrel on the planet.

I can't for the life of me imagine the CPS taking this any further.

The hand-wringers will be along in a minute.
Sorry to go on 4GS but stories like this make my blood boil.
Slightly different to Tony Martin.

Tonys mistake was in not playing the game by pretending to be sorry.
They have eye witness accounts that all agree so why are they even thinking of charging him?

Send him on his way with a pat on the back for a job well done, he has reduced the crime spree in that area far more than the police have done

This quote sums the whole thing up for me
"Mr Singh and his family are extremely valuable and well-liked members of this community which is more than can be said for Kilroe."

All that's happened is that the file has been sent to the CPS for consideration. They will almost certainly decide not to take further action.

Despite what the Mule says this case does not resemble the case of Tony Martin who shot a burglar in the back with his own (Martin's) illegal firearm.

wasters like this are the boil on the backside of civilisation,

come on you lefties no comments from you yet,

someone kicked his pet rabbit when he was six?

thats ok then let him go free to wreak havoc among law abiding members of society,

this waste of space and air should have been dealt with properly and locked up without benefit of key for ever,

well done the shopkeeper who has saved us all valuable time and expense.
I think I've commented helpmetoo - or don't I count as a leftie?

From the facts we have this is a clear case of self defense. Assailant attacked with his own weapon. Shopkeeper sustained numerous injuries including to the back, One single fatal wound to the chest.

Unless there's other information we don't have the CPS will not press charges.

This is just the Mail trying to build a cornflake spitter up and winding up the easily led.

I doubt you'll ever see this story again after next week
What complete and untter sh1te, jake the nob. 2 pikies where robbing his house in the dark he shot them ok one was in the back but he couldn't really see them. Great one less pikiey scum, he should have been sentenced to shooting lessons to make sure he get's them both next time. Why do hand wringing lefty whingers always look for something that aint there? In my view you give up your rights when you start performing a burglary.

The guy above should get a medal, done us all a favour if you ask me, one less peice of sh1t walking the streets.
jake,
didnt recognise your usual style within your first post,

i will pay more attention!

I stand slightly to the left of Tony Benn, and I totally understand why Tony Singh had to be arrested. Police Officers on the ground can't take it upon themselves not to investigate a death, even if in self defence.

Can you imagine that? A copper sees a dead body, and radios in to his sergeant, "He was a wrong 'un...let's just chuck the body in a recycling bin".

Mr Singh certainly should not be prosecuted...but I wonder why the case was sent to the CPS in the first place?

Does anyone know exactly how these things work???

Violent deaths have to be investigated. This one will in all probability never get to court and rightly so if all of these facts are correct. I mean, there's not really a debate here is there?
Congrats to the DM for not reporting it as a rapscallion jack-the-lad type character stabbed to death by muslims taking over the country. Bravo sirs, it must have been tempting.
I know this is old news now, but Tony Martin did us a favour. The kid he killed would, without one single shadow of a doubt, have been in and out of jail for the rest of his life and would not have contributed anything meaningful to society. It is a pity he only managed to wing Fearon.

I also feel that any rights you are entitled to should immediately stop the moment you decide to step over someones threshold, uninvited, with a view to commit a crime.

Rightly or wrongly I live in a fairly black and white world and therefore feel that had these two not been on Martin's farm that night to commit a crime, they would not have been shot. However they chose to be there to commit a crime and they were shot. Well boo bloody hoo.
Typic comic tabloid:

Headline says:

Shopkeeper faces murder charge after turning knife on career criminal during carjacking

It implies that he has already been charged with murded, which is nonsense.

The story then says:

A shopkeeper could face a murder charge following a fatal struggle with a knife-wielding raider.

which is a little nearer the truth.

Kilroe was allowed out on bail which he failed to surrender to. Why are magistrates/judges so eager to let such people roam the streets.

This is the judicial system failing society.

Hang on...do you mean that he hasn't actually been charged with murder?

Really, really confused. I thought that in these circumstances the police send the file to the CPS, but it's the police who recommend what the person would be charged with (???)
according to a local high ranking police officer, Tony Martins only mistake was to not hide the body.

This guy in your article had been stabbed and managed to turn the attackers knife back onto him. Theres no charge of murder, thats self defence in my mind.

i thought by law, we were allowed to defend ourselves.
if someone knocks your window out and you are strapped into a car... you fight !

in my opinion... mr singh did the right thing !
