Whilst browsing for a card for dear old mummy, I was astounded to see a card with the following greeting on the front.

"To my wife on Mother's Day"

What the...

I don't think they've really thought this one through properly. You give a mother's day card to your mother NOT your wife. She may well be a mother but she's not YOUR mother. I hope they don't sell and the shops send them all back and we never see them again.

Its a money making thing, I would imagine that some idiot will buy it.
Did you buy one?
I saw cards from the cat and dog on mothers day!
I must say I would hate to get a card from Mr Funny, with happy mothers day on it.

I am his wife, not his mother!!
i suppose in some parts of the country some men might be married to their mothers!
lol julie, I saw a xmas stocking to the cat from "mummy and daddy"
I also dont like the ones that say 'From both of us on Mothers day', as in from you and your partner.

I mean no matter how close I am to my boyfriend or husbands mum, she is his mum, not mine!

well cazz, i looked longingly at them and thought to myself " if only my cats were that thoughtful" But then again, maybe they will bring me breakfast in bed instead of the card!
I admit to having given my boyfriend cards from the cats and dogs on his birthday, but I'm sad like that and our pets are a big part in both our lives! They also buy him presents too!

Oh yes, I forgot. I do live near the Forest of Dean. They probably sell well there. I can imagine a father calling to his son.

{in fluent yokel}

"Jethro, put the banjo down, climb down from that wood pile and come and give your wife her card."
Lucy, have you just got in from Tesco? I just saw the exact same when I was in there about 20 minutes ago - happy to say there were plenty of those left - means no-one has been stupid enough to buy one!
Lucy Thomas ...everyone is different ...live life ..as it's
short ..who cares if the grammar is not correct ....
get out more ...not only to Tesco ...try Waitrose or
M&S maybe more your style ....
Never thought about it like that... I have always seen them here in the states. It is kind of yucky if you think about it.
