Bank charges court case.
Does anyone know what's happening with this case? I haven't seen anything about it in the press since the case was due to start in January.

You will certainly hear about it when he delivers his verdict. Whatever the outcome it will then take months more to resolve because banks are going to be inundated with either customers after money now (if the case goes in favour of the claimants) or questions (if it goes against).
Don't book this year's summer holiday on the expectation of paying for it from funds released.

If the banks lose the case then they are going to want to replace these charges with other charges so that their profits don't fall.
If this means that people who keep their personal current account in credit start having to pay for the privilage of just having such an account, then I hope the banks win the case.
Whether or not these contentious bank charges are fair and reasonable, those who have paid them knew full well that they were liable to pay under the terms and conditions which they accepted when they opened thir account and continued to use it.
