They say that people who harm or attack other people often start with harming animals. I dread to think what he might do to people in the future. I have to ask myself, is that really the best job for that individual? Absolutely disgusting behaviour!
What a real American hero he is.
I love dogs and Its just a shame that his commanding officer didn't kick the living day lights out of this slime and send him home on an dishonarable discharge.
Mind you if you think the Iraqi's are any better towards their animals think again. I remember seeing a report before the fall of Mad man Saddam that he used to fire up his troops by haing them rip a live dog apart. I saw the pictures. (If any one else remembers this please varify.TY)

Its not just the Yanks, 1969 tour of NI, one of my sqad members threw a large stone at a pup, hit it and broke its leg, its yelps were pitiful.
He ended up on a charge, got a measley five pound fine, but he was ordered to pay the vets bills.
I refused to have him in one of my patrols again, and my CO agreed fortunately.
These are just two 'incidents', how many more, I wonder.

We had a military hospital in Bosnia which was over run by stray mange-ridden dogs, we couldn't get them out and obviously it was not good for our casualties to have them running around so the Veterinary Corps got rid of them by smearing Bovril on the end of a pistol, when the dog got the scent at put it's nose to the barrel it got a 9mm round (bullet) between the eyes, nice n quick. That's the only time I've ever seen squaddies hurt a dumb animal. I'm not saying British soldiers are angels, far from it, but I wouldn't tolerate any mistreatment of animals, or humans. As I said, if any of my soldiers did mistreat one, I'd make bloody well sure it never happened again, and I'd press the C.O for their immediate discharge

Oh good grief the 'thank god for the USA' brigade are here.
There is a lot more to WW2 than meats the eye you know. It wasn't all the US and by the way we were paying for it for 60 odd years.
It still doesn't change the fact that fake or otherwise it was a stupid, nasty thing to do.
Even if its faked this will still be a bad mark on the US army and they have enough of those without making things worse.

We depend on whole species. For instance, we rely on pigs - not a pig for several meats. So long as a species isn't in danger of extinction, I don't really care. And don't try to tell me puppies are on the verge of extinction.
Plus, you're right: we are animals. Animals generally don't tend to care much about other species unless they're a threat or unless they're food.
