The McCanns have won damages for hundreds of "grossly defamatory" articles by 4 major newspapers, especially Express Newspapers, with prominent apolgies expected.

I despise the press in this country and think they are an absolute disgrace to Britain. The lies they print often go unchallenged as this just makes things worse (see Heather Mills) and the subsequent apologies are normally hidden on page 27.

donn -interesting stats -havent seen those ones before.

Anyway this all about printing downright lies -not about the bandwagon everyone jumped on when this happened.

I left my kids every night until they were able to look after themselves -does that make me a bad mum -no just meant I was out for the count sleeping-and there are many wee ones who have been found wandering the streets in the dead of night while their mums and dads are sleeping -funny why they are not vilified??
I am merely musing so dont think i'm having a go -just an alternative perspective on things
O many a time in our large garden the kids would be sleeping whilst we continued our chat with friends outside apres BBQ -was that remiss?

i am legend i totally agree with you she is cold and i always thought he was false and i don't think you could have put it any clearer. i mean it must be absolutly distressing to go through waht they have been through but common sense tells you not to leave children alone! Its like handing someone the keys to your car, go and take it lol. both work as doctors? probably report ppl by the day for mistreating children and then you take a look closer to home and its then under suspision they cant hack it

there is a difference between a bbq and holiday outside property in your garden ok? DIFFERENT COUNTRY? LOL HOW STUPID. we have common sense and we use it. not put children to sleep and ;eave them while you dine out down the road, round the corner etc! when you choose to have children you guve up that single lifestyle and dedicate all your time to them

Strange as you have had since May 3rd last year and have been kept well, if a little salaciously, informed by the fine upstanding gentlemen and ladies of the press......................

It's almost as if the original dreadful mistake has given license for all the churls and grumblies to harden their hearts and turn their faces from the McCanns.............

There is still the matter of a little girl who was bewilderingly snatched from her family; she wouldn't have understood why her parents and brother and sister were no longer around...........

That's the point that most right-thinking people take as their starting point...............

Oh-dris..i understand the garden scenario so well. When my daughter was 4-5....we would put her to bed and then go out to tend our very long (450 feet )garden,sometimes i could see her at her window and I always assumed she was safe. What the McCanns did resulted in the loss of their little girl...but what they did is NOT uncommon in these holiday complexesWithin a week of her disappearance I read statements by MANY parents who had done the same.....feeling it was safe.....but of course-none would admit it now.

Yeah -they left their children -not exactly home alone like some of the erses who did -but hey they left them with yoghurt and crisps and effed off for 2wks in Turkey -remember their names -of course you dont- cos their kids werent abducted and didnt die -they werent 'middle class' tho- so didnt know better.

I would love to be on such a moral high ground -not -I am glad I am grounded and realise that the ones who bleat the most abot the 'failings' of the McCanns are the ones who probably have left their bairns alone and there but for the grace of.........and all that -not aimed at anyone on here before anyone starts -just a passing observation !

Stevie, most sensible people now agree that since the Keystone Cops have stopped spreading mis-information and lies and admitted their general incompetence, the most likely scenario is that of abduction.............
