Blair/Brown & the MMR
9 Answers
So should Blair tell us what Leo has had, and should Brown tell us what he intens to do? My partner and I have an eleven month old daughter, and we are in a quandary (although are leaning towards paying for the single jabs).
Personally, I feel we should be told, although Blair's silence indicates to me that Leo has had the single jabs. Or is this just another example from Labour of do as I say, not as I do (see Dianne Abbott - hypocrite extraorinairre).
If they told us that Leo has had it, and that Brown Jr was going to have it, then I think that would probably sway us.

Of course they should tell us. They set themselves up as our "betters" and tell us what to do. How dare they do that without telling us what they do. I am amazed at the naivety that suggests that personal integrity has ever figured in the liar's decision making process! And Leo Blair is a public figure in the same way as Cherie. They are quick enough to use the role when it suits them (lecture tours and books) but not when it doesn't) Hypocritical liars like all their type, and totally lacking in what normal people regard as ethics or respect.
I have to agree that Blair is in an impossible situation, and should avoid disclosing his personal decision. It certainly wouldn't have had any influence over the decisions I made over the vaccinations, the decision was ours and ours alone. And I say this as the parent of an autistic child so believe me this is something I have given a lot of thought to!

Are you seriously telling us, Scuba, that a decision affecting your own child's health hangs upon whether the Prime Minister and Chancellor have decided similarly for theirs or not?
Look at the medical evidence, for heaven's sake...a couple of tiny reports from two or three medical men suggest the triple vaccine is bad whereas many major and substantial reports say the opposite. "Who ya gonna believe?" as they say.
What these people do re the health of their offspring is nothing whatever to do with anyone else.
The problem is, I use to consider myself a rational person, but since I've become a father I've lost all rationality concerning my child - I break into a sweat when she falls over for gawds sake - I'm sure I will grow out of this, and I know you most certainly shouldn't molly coddle kids, but because I'm new to this game I'm always worried: I am enjoying it as well, but I just want to protect her as much as I can - and for this reason, I would just feel a bit reassured if our leaders showed that they were not worried about any perceived danger. I have no doubt the horror stories are sensationalised, but unfortunately the irrational, paranoid father in me, can't help listening to these horror stories.
