I just cannot believe that this man could get away with it for this long. The wife says she knew nothing of it. I myself find that hard to believe, or that she just couldn't have cared that much for the woman. Also don't you think he looks a bit like George Galloway :-)

Think I�ve worked it out that she was 19. Correct me if I�m wrong anyone, but looks like she went missing at age 11 in 1984 and eldest is 19 so she had him at 16 ish

She is 42 and there is some doubt over what year the eldest was born.That whole building you've seen on the reports was their house by the way,it wasn't flats.

Just getting back to the childbirth thing for a moment...

In Western cultures, because we have access to more nutritious food, better medicines etc babies have been getting bigger and bigger over the past 100 years or so.

This, I'm led to understand, why so many women have to be 'cut' during the childbirth process.

In less developed parts of the world, the size of the child isn't generally an issue (they're smaller).

I think the original post is disgusting and should be banned. Ok I know the guy did some bad things: incest, kidnap, abuse, keeping his daughter in a dungeon all her life. But to compare someone to George Galloway? That is just disgusting.

What the hell were the Austrian police doing (or not doing). The girl must have been reported missing by someone 24 years ago, did they not search the house? I feel sorry for the 18 year old boy who apparently has never seen daylight and has grown up assuming that the world is contained in just one room (one for philosophers to ponder!). I don't suppose there was a tv or radio or any contact with the outside world.
He will have terrible psychological problems. Imagine if at 18 (which is an angst ridden age for most) you discovered that the universe was not what you thought it was.

The British police don't.

Very rarely, papaleekie - an adult is free to leave home without explanation. The police are only interested in vulnerable missings.

papaleekie the mothere didnt even know it was there so I doubt the police would. The father said she ran away to a sect it wasnt until she dumped the children on doorstep she was reported missing
