This is a repeat of the CCTV scam.
CCTV costs billions (from our taxes) and actually does nothing to combat crime.

These machines will be the same. Every council will pay a fortune for loads of these machines, and they will do very little. Meanwhile, the makers of the hardware will make vast amounts of money, and fraud will continue.
More than �8 billion of benefit are unclaimed by people who are entitled to them (2006 figure). Will they be going to such extravagant measures to see that that money is paid to people who should have it?
