Dogs and foxes

My 2 Jack russels killed a fox in the garden yesterday. I got rid of the fox and de-fleaed the dogs. Was wondering if i should take the dogs to the vet ? Incase they have caught something... Also does this mean that my usually friendly dogs are now going to be hard to control..

Don't you realise that hunting with dogs is illegal?

LOL, don't worry, I hardly think your two dogs will be classed as a pack of hounds, and the only problem you might get is mange, so make sure you bathe your dogs well and if they do start itching then get something stronger from the vet to bath them with.

I doubt if it will make any difference to your dogs behaviour, just that they will be more keen to chase any other foxes daft enough to come into your garden.

They looked pretty pleased with themselves when i got in, and there was a wing of a bird on the grass, think they went mad in the hot weather... the fleas were as big as ants, left flea powder on them for an hour then bathed them.

Thankfully it was just a fox and a bird instead of a baby.

Was it a dog fox or a vixen? I'm only asking because if it was a vixen it is probably feeding it's young now and they'll be without their mother !!

i wouldnt worry about the fleas,id be more worried aout the publics safety around the dogs,i pray to god you havent got children. Poor fox.....i hope it wasnt a vixen

Why on earth would the public be at risk because a dog was doing what it was originally bred for?

get a life...leewayne.. they are terriers..... they are meant to chase fox's and rodents... it does not mean they are baby killers.... Am i going mad or are you lot mad????????????

just for the record i have got a life.....a ver good one thanks,i was nearly killed when i was 2 because of a jack russel.maybe dogs do it naturally but werent they just in the garden,what are they like in public if they see a dog,they cant tell the difference between a dog and a fox!!

I agree Jack Russells can be really nasty. There was one down the end of our road and it chased and bit lots of kids when I was a child.

Can I borrow them please, there is a fox coming in my garden at night and the place stinks!! my dogs GSD's mostly choose not to hear it,(it disturbs their sleep lol) having said that, if they saw a fox then it probably wouldn't last long, I live on a farm over-run by the bl***dy things, I recently had to fork out over �100 to treat all my dogs for mange as many of the foxes around here have it, don't worry about what others are saying, I doubt they would be so concerned if you had said it was rats your dogs had killed, foxes are classed as vermin as well. and just because a dog does what nature intended doesn't make it a baby killer.

course i know the difference between a dog and a fox but a dog doesnt. i didnt say they were baby killers but they can be nasty.....think they must get it from there owners
