KM Links Game - May Week 4 Results

Thanks to london_lassy, the game got off to an early start on Saturday morning, but not too early to catch out crofter who had set his alarm for a dawn rising. Let's hope it was worth it.


There were a few names entered this week that I didn't recognise, so if these were new players, then "Welcome Aboard". Treat this week as practice and the scoring starts afreash next weekend for the month of June (a 5-week month).


I don't know whether you all saw it, but ulysses100 posted some sad news over on the MM Game. Be assured ulysses100 that you have our sympathy and all our thoughts are with you at this sad time.


I'm still waiting to hear from Steff, so it looks like I'll be scoring this game very shortly, but not until some early riser does the necessary and solves the Herculis links and posts them on this thread. Who will be kind enough to do so?

Too clever by half! Not only have I failed to score a single point, but I changed two correct guesses on the basis that, at this stage in the game, it would be fruitless to duplicate any of crofter's choices. Oh, woe is me!

"Oh Happy Days" - No fewer than 42 players scored points this week. Wasn't Kate kind to us?

As a result, my abacus has been kept red-hot this morning assimilating all those points.


First player, centrino, knocked off ORANGE PEEL for 2 points and within the two-minute window, freebi 2 & crofter also picked up bonus points.


Second player, centrino, gets the 2 points for RARE EARTH and within those vital two minutes, who should drop in with the same suggestion? Why, none other than crofter for a further 2 points.


It was half an hour into the game before JMR27 matched BETA PARTICLE for 2 points and then the very next player, beejay1124, captured the final link of FROG MARCH, which along with a lesser match gained 3 points.


In all 12 players had double-hits (too many to mention individually), but one, cliffyg managed THREE matches - alas no bonus points.

So what does that do for the month's leadership board?

in 5th place on 7 points is ulysses100

in 3rd place (equal) on 8 points are Chiefpanda & lysander

Runner-up on 10 points is Dizzy Lizzie


but way out there in front on 13 points is this month's favourite - crofter

I also hope that it won't be too long before we see Steff back again. I know from experience that when your computer dies you don't realise how often that you use it.

Well done Crofter - doubly deserved as you have, for so long, nobly run the MM Links and thus cannot take part. Thanks Gen 2 for stepping in.
As for me - absolute zero. Posted much later than the early birds and, like Aquagility, rejecting various winning options for the sake of trying to be different. Mind you not a single 'beta particle' went through my head - no comments please!

Since it would be too confusing to run different timescales for KM and MM, this was the final game for May. Sorry if I didn't make that more clear. In my preamble to the game on Saturday morning, (http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-and-Puz zles/Question570184.html ) I stated the following:
This is the last week in this month's game so this will determine the championship for May.
